Fifty years, fifty million raindrops
Unsent letters, unspoken goodbyes.
A slow rust grew between phones,
in days when promises never crossed wires.
A quiet waiting that stole a lifetime,
a lifetime they dreamed of sharing.
Fifty years, fifty million heartbeats
Empty distance, futile blames.
A vast maze of unanswered questions,
Roads that were never meant to be walked.
A gentle brush of hands promised forever,
Forever β was their loveliest hoax.
Fifty years, fifty million tears
He chased his dreams, she drifted through borrowed days.
A friend watched with envy,
threading untruthful lines that tore them apart.
Trapped in a world of cruelty,
the friend crushed a once-in-a-lifetime love.
Fifty years, fifty million longing nights
Born of betrayal by her soul's ally.
Her woven words spun tales of leaving and return,
paths turned into a maze they never knew they'd walk.
Though lives moved on and flowers bloomed,
their hearts kept the scars, aching for a long-lost garden.
Fifty years, fifty million pounds of sorrows,Β
a wound as deep as the miles that lay now between tomorrows.
Poem written by me.
Inspired by lyric "fifty years, fifty million tears" from its time to go by Taylor Swift.
