Can people please stop talking shit on Nii-sensei and complaining about other characters getting attention and backstories? Like, it’s my favorite thing when an MC isn’t the only character that matters in a story. It makes the world-building that much more immersive and interesting.

And also, most of the other characters’ relationships and backstories in Wind Breaker have a special significance to Sakura’s growth as a character too. So, like, he is getting attention even when it’s not direct. Some people just get so fixated on the surface level that they can’t seem to look any deeper, and it’s really disrespectful to the author when they act like Sakura gets no focus whenever he not only is involved in every part of the story on some level but is always out there actively bringing everyone together throughout the story.

No, we don’t know much about his past yet. Yet. Because he’s the main character, and we need to build up to that. He still has a lot of growth to do before he can feel comfortable sharing that part of himself with others. It would be weird if the story jumped straight into his super personal trauma so early on. And before the other characters too? Nah. Sakura needs to hear/experience others’ stories and struggles first. He needs to help them before he can realize that it’s okay to share his own trauma and seek help himself.

But the story needs to build up to that point.

Which means we gotta be patient for Sakura’s backstory. This is a story about his growth and his healing and finding a place of belonging. If everything fell into place right away, the story would be over.

So just enjoy the story as it is? Like, it’s a super well-written series with really great character relationships. And Sakura is at the center of it all, in one way or another. As is, the story still has a long way to go. Please stop trying to rush it to its end and just trust that Nii-sensei will give us what we want in due time.

#hmmm i'm quite puzzled by this sentiment that there hasn't been enough mc because of the lack of a backstory #for me personally there is not much need for a backstory.. the author has already shown us what sakura's past is like #in his motivations/how he treats others and behaves/ its in the rundown apartment sakura stays at with nothing but a blanket and his uniform #there's nothing speculative there as to what kind of life sakura lived before furin its all very out in the open so #and come on now... we're 150 ch into the sakura haruka story and there's people saying he isn't in enough panels? be serious 😅#i personally really enjoy wbks pacing i know i wasn't 100% satisfied with the noroshi arc but that doesn't make it bad it was still #an amazing arc that has so perfectly shown us how far sakura came in his short time at furin!
