Introduction & Difference Between Transpiration & Evaporation !
INTRODUCTION
Transpiration is a physical process that takes place in plants only.
It is a process of water evaporation from plants.
PLACE OF TRANSPIRATION
It occurs in all kinds of plants specially in the terrestrial plants.
It occurs mainly at leaves while their stomata are open for the process of photosynthesis.
TIME OF TRANSPIRATION
It mainly occurs in day time due to the presence of sunlight.
TYPES OF TRANSPIRATION
There are three types of transcription
Stomatal transpiration.
Cuticular transpiration.
Lenticular transpiration.
FACTORS EFFECTING TRANSPIRATION
There are some factors which can increase the rates of transpiration.
Low humidity of air.
High temperature of air.
High speed of wind.
High light intensity.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRANSPIRATION AND EVAPORATION
IMPORTANCE OF TRANSPIRATION
It helps to keep the plant cool in hot weather.
Transpiration plays an important role in water cycle. It releases 10% of water back into the environment.
It creates water vapour that forms into fog and cloud.
This is the general notes on transpiration.
