Prototype Get
So, I’m putting the final touches on some Heavy-class weaponry, then I’m going to try to figure out the fastest way to create some printable prototype cards. Why? I’m going to International Tabletop Gaming Day at The First Alleyway in Gwangju next Saturday to demo the game! I’m really excited to put the game in front of some fresh eyes and see what needs to be done for game balance. Things are starting to take off, to some extent- I have friends who are willing to get the game to other corners of the world for some testing, I’ve talked a bit of card production shop, and I am very, very close to having all of the parts I want / need (and then some) for an introductory pack. Just gotta do some beta testing.
Bionic Brawl! prototype development begins
Dear everybody,
Hi. My name's Thom. I've been working on a robot building / fighting board and card game off and on for the past two / two-and-a-half years. It's been a fun little project to come back to every once in a while.
Thing is, I think I'm at the point where I'm getting serious about making this a reality. I have a bunch of ideas on paper, card stats and the rest, and no actual cards here in Korea, where I currently live and teach English. So, this is going to need to change.
My current goal is to have a fully playable prototype ready by mid-April at the very latest, in time for International Tabletop Day. I'd like to have something to show at my local gathering, something to play with people.
The game, I've decided to call it BIONIC BRAWL!, is a robot arena fighting game originally designed for 2 players, but can (theoretically) support up to 6 players. I've tested it with two and three players back in the States, and it worked quite well. I'm ready to push forward and start putting finishing touches on a number of parts to create a working product prototype.
"BIONIC BRAWL! pits custom-built robots against each other in a series of rounds of combat during which players program a command sequence for the robot to execute. Robots are built by choosing unique parts, each with their own Command Decks, then combining those decks and preparing for battle! Wild and unpredictable, BIONIC BRAWL! features moments of head-hanging regret and moments of astonished victory when all-out volleys of desperation become odds-defying comebacks."
Keep an eye on this space for future updates and developments.
