So I rewatched Shippuden as well as parts of the Boruto manga/anime and interestingly enough, I’ve developed a huge love for Sasuke in particular. 

Especially how they handle his character in Boruto. I’m not a fan of sasusaku per say, but I’m really glad they acknowledge the fact that Sasuke has absolutely no idea how to emotionally connect with someone. It’s extremely hard for him to get any normal level of intimacy and in that regard I like that Sakura is understanding enough that she doesn’t hold it against him when he can’t express typical husband behavior.

 “Is that it?” Compared to Deidara’s hype Gaara was a stone carved directly from the walls of desert rock. “You want to be punished?”

    Deidara swallowed. When he said it like that it sounded so...stupid. To be begging for punishment to ease their own conscious was such a far step below who they used to be. It just made sense though, didn’t it? That was how this whole  ‘repentance’ thing worked. You face your consequences and punishments. It was the only thing that could explain why they were alive again to begin with. 

  “I guess.         I’m more confused as to why you haven’t done jack shit yet.”

    Deidara had lingered around the Village hidden in the sand for a while now. This was where they did the most damage in some opinions. Taking out the Kazekage once upon a time wasn’t something to joke around with. Of course, no one seemed to stay dead anymore, Deidara included. 

 “...You still haven’t told me what I can do to make up for what I did.” Deidara huffed, folding their arms over their chest. “You don’t have to forgive me or anything but there has to be something I can do... a punishment or some sort of task? Don’t leave me hanging like this---”
