My Business Cards coming Tuesday
Final show
The final show is Wednesday the 16th of May. So far my final videos are sorted I have 11 in total. I was going to play them on my USB on my tv but my tv will only play images and music so I had to make a 6 hour repeated video of my videos so I can play it through the internet at uni on my PlayStation. round the back of, my boards. I’m going in tomorrow to do my final clean and touches to make it perfect but its all hands on deck.

Final Show
As it nears to the end of my course I decided everything I've looked into has come to me as an artist wanting to make sex a non-taboo subject matter for the public, to make it the norm almost. a part of everyday life. So I took everyday boring household chores and replaced the items with sex toys and bondage wear. As I go I will upload them to my playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMMIySyjFPhlCiMdLAn5JMw072tcDk-XE , I also started to look into how I wanted to present my finale pieces and after talking to my tutors I feel as though an everyday setting, like the normal living room, the basics to give it that feel but still in a gallery setting. I have a through Ideas as an armchair, tv unit, and flatscreen, maybe rug and photo for the wall but its better to take away if you have too much. I feel this will give the piece its shock factor but still showing that it's all about making sex the norm and that its nothing to be ashamed of or not to talk about the subject matter. And to rub it in towards prude people.
Assignment SP3
After I created my 3 clandestine images using the plotter and gloss spray paint, I wanted to look into what I was trying to achieve with the images, not just the way they looked and the technique but the sexual behavior, the secretive, I then I thought I wanted to remove sexuality from someone. I was interested in female sex dolls and how males are saying they are going to marry their purchases in the future and how they don't need females to reproduce and will just physically make a baby(robot). Which then lead me to remember that there was a report saying they females won't need males anymore as in the future they will be able to make sperm out of someone DNA no matter their gender so females could reproduce with females which is much more likely than all women going out of fashion because of sex dolls. Then I was interested to see male sex dolls, and not surprisingly there was nothing amazing, barely a scratch on what female sex dolls look like. So I wanted to de-masculise a male by replacing his genitals with a dildo, just to prove the more likely ending of this gender war to reproduce. So to create this I took a nude image of a male and took away his blemishes and genitals, I made sure the image looked clinical and cold, to give a sex doll feel. I then printed it out on the plotter and used a plastic frame on the image so that I could stick a suction cup dildo to the front. I was happy with the work as it was just something I wanted to make at the time.
Assignment SP3 - 3
As my final work for this term I wanted to go out with a bang I took myself fully into my work I wanted to mess around with printing as printing could great really expensive for gloss prints for the size I wanted as to why I kept printing smaller.
Following from my last presentation and my power collection of photos. The word clandestine came up which means secretive. I wanted to carry on with this sexual dominance thing I’m rolling with. I took my model again and bought a bondage kit. And took pattern into mind. I wanted to feel like it’s someone’s home for a secret feel in the privatacy of their home or an older home. I loved how they turned out and I printed them onto A1on the plotter at uni. I had a little trouble darkness wise as the prints kept being too dark to see. But this is an issue I’ve faced before with my photoshop on my laptop it shows up a lot brighter on my screen. I finally adjusted it and once I had the prints I had to gloss them, I bought I few cans of clear spray paint I left I large boarder on the images so I could tape them down flat so the spray paint could lay flat. This was the tricky part because spray painting thin paper some parts took better than others, I think if I had more money I would of used a can per image but as it was £9 a can and I was trying to save money and try something new I didn’t. They still look good just wish I was able to dunk them in gloss.
Assignment SP3 - 2
After my social experiments With baby_essex I found that my subject matter was sex and secrets. So I decided to look into Bdsm culture, trans, privatacy, stuff that people could possibly be ashamed of or want to hide as they aren’t resdy. I wanted to create a private photoshoot feel, I decided to hire a male model and bought some lingerie that fitted him.
I decided to play with blue light and fabrics, and white backgrounds I wanted to have a submissive and dominant feel to the photos, I also wanted them to feel private as if they took them or got someone very close to. I love the way these photos turned out, this was for my first silent presentation, which helped a lot because I got a lot of helpful feedback so I could develop further into what I wanted the viewer to see from my work.
Assignment SP3 - 1
After my first project of the year where we looked into cliches, I decided to take it further and take the four stereotypes I made and looked into before but just focusing on one, I decided out of emo, student, dyke and Essex, that Essex was actually all of the above and yet not. As someone for example could still be a goth but live in Essex and still be an Essex girl. And I wanted to make art that represented that the stereotype wasn’t true by following real life #essexgirl’s.
So I took to Instagram and looked up the hashtag Essex girl and it was surprising how many people used this hashtag to define themselves as Essex girl stereotypes aren’t the most pleasant I countering such things as blonde hair, fake tan, white heels, mini skirts and towie (the only way is Essex) from this I took into account of my last outcome and my Essex stereotype and how that was done in a comedy aspect. And I didn’t want this social experiment to be a comedy show. I really wanted to put myself in the life of a Essex girl and see how the people on the app would react to what this character I made had posted.
I still wanted something to separate me from this character I made so I kept the long blonde wig, trying to find a name was hard because I wanted it to be as basic as possible but straight to the point I ended up on baby_essex. So after I had the character sorted and my idea I had to start taking photos. I wanted to recreate the top posts on Instagram under essexgirl and use me as the model, I’d pose as the original and appropriate their hashtags and comments. I did a couple of weeks of this, and the reaction I received was what I was half expecting but still a shock as I have never put myself on a platform as exposed as this even though I come under the Essex girl stigma, the girls I copied weren’t all covering the stereotypes some were athletes, emos, gamers, mums and political so that was great fun pretending to be this multi character person.
What I didn’t like was the male attention or the hate comments I received from girls. Or the comments on my halfway point from my tutors saying they didn’t understand the blonde wig as if I was giving into the stereotype, and mocking it. This wasn’t everyone’s view point, so I decided to keep the wig because I really didn’t want to bring myself into it. Because I didn’t think the accounts followers would understand and think it was a fake profile. Going back to the male attention the account even got photos screenshotted and put onto another account with porn hashtags, I thought this was a great thing because I got a males view of what they thought of this character I had made through hashtags.
I thought this was a good stepping stone for another project but I won’t be carrying on with baby Essex as it’s reached it’s tipping point I definitely learned a lot and I will take that further through the year.

Assignment SP3
During my first assignment of my first two weeks of my third year of uni, I got set the task to look into cliche’s, after thinking about for a while I first came up with the idea of using stereotypes of England, set by the people of England because I found an image on Google referring to different countys as very blunt things, I wanted to put these words onto t-shirts by screen printing, and make a fashion line for the stereotypes, in a mocking way to show they didn't matter because for arguments sake, not all Essex people wear “Fake Tan” and so forth, but after discussing with my tutor I decided it was to board of a statement and could be read wrong, so I decided to take the stereotypes upon myself. and I had to think to myself what stereotypes could I be labeled under and I decided on doing four different stereotypes relating to me. I chose Essex girl, Dyke, Emo and Art Student. I felt these all could relate to me. But even though I could be taken under these labels I do not resemble what Google images say they do. I first went to Google and typed each of the four things I had chosen following the word stereotype E.g: Essex Girl Stereotype. and found four images of people that were under these categories. Form this I had to choose what medium I wanted to do as I had to do something I hadn't done before as part of the assignment, and I decided on performance. I wanted to dress like these people I had found images of but I needed a way to document it. So I looked at artists who had done performances or dressed up or documented things in odd ways, such as Yinka Shonibare and Juan Pablo Echeverri. And looking into their work I came up with using a photobooth to document my characters one by one and dressing up and going out into the world. I found this really hard as I was really out of my comfort zone, but I loved what I created and will perhaps take it further and look into more performance art work.
