Crested Chacha Sometimes called the Northern Crested Caracara or Audubon’s Crested Caracara, this big lazy son of a bitch should have it’s bird-of-prey-license revoked, because it mainly feeds on carrion. When they do bother to catch live prey, it’s almost always immobile or incapacitated already. You’d think a member of the Falconidae family could make more of an effort.

Notes: Dopey long legs, flat talons, embarrassment to real raptors. Also: “Crested”? Get real; that dollar-store toupee isn’t fooling anyone, asshole.

A captive Harris Hawk at a museum up north was eating it’s rat on a perch outside when a wild female kestrel attempted to steal the rat. She left unharmed and empty taloned. Perfect photo timing = priceless image. :)”
