Kingfisher
The other one I really do like. I could have done better but it was my second try at a bird....finished and framed and now hangs in the office.
Benji...I both love and hate this one. Benjamin belongs to @parrot-post please go and follow her lovely birds!
A very in progress portrait of Hibble
May Warbler
This one finished! May warbler, very proud of actually. Framed and now lives at my mother's house
Unfinished Bluejay
This is a (very) closeup of a bluejay in winter, I’m “working on it” File it under “Eventually”
STAN
Great god almighty, this one. I worked on him for over a year (2016-2017) and STILL he wouldn’t turn out the way I wanted him to. Just LOOK at his feet, he looks like he’s wearing orange booties. But I finished it...finished in this case means I can’t do anything else with it without sinking into a murderous rage, so....I call it Done. Stan the Disapproving Seagull.
Meadowlark
Okay this one is one that I actually finished. A meadowlark, framed and displayed at the Mary Koch Center for the Arts, Wichita, Kansas. Sold.
There are tons of mistakes in it I can see from here, but altogether, not bad. This was the one that made me decide I liked painting birds and wanted to focus solely on those.
A very early attempt at a macaw. I still have this picture and eventually I will return to it to try and make it better. I don’t even have a reference picture for it. I have...so many unfinished pictures, lol. Eventually I will get to them all.
Hibble closeup
This was a closeup of the first painting I did of Hibble, sometime in 2016. Mah precious bebbe.
Mallard
March 2016. I can’t do water, but this was my first attempt at it.
