So I've been watching tons of Game of Thrones as you do and at the end credits of one of the episodes in the 4th season it had the most epic doom metal type classical pieces and i briefly jammed out to it so that is sort of lead to the bridge in this song, and the name of this song. The other parts are quite weird i dont really know how to describe it, all i know is that i wanted a sort of medieval tinge. The best thing is the harmonised riffs in the chorus that was a good idea haha :)

This one is pretty simple in terms of structure, very basic, because sometimes it's nice to just make something easy. Of course to balance that out there's a weird chord in place and a weird progression that probably shouldnt work but i got it to anyhow.. I continue my growing style of having some loud strumming guitars and a reverberating/echo-y lead floating on top of it to balance the hard rock with soft tremolo picking. Of course me being me not everything can be that simple, so for that added abrasiveness, pinch harmonics or squealies are pretty frequent, hopefully they work in the right places This song to me is about the cosmological argument for God's existence, i was thinking of design and complexity like the mechanisms within watches and idk its difficult it's as easy to deny there's a god as it is to believe in one, it's a lot harder to sit on the fence (which I'm doing anyway), so there's a battle between complexity and simiplicity in this one as i can't decide between the two

Out of all those new-ish indie bands NME keep harking on about, Wolf Alice are probably the best out there, and that is besides my very obvious crush on Ellie Rowsell... they just do the whole contemporary soft rock with 90's grunge and shoegaze influence so well it's really inspiring

I already know that very soon I'm gonna get bored of heavy distortion and become like literally every band that "matures" and tones down the fast heavy rock music for more mellower tones and sounds (e.g. (deftones,blink-182, incubus, biffy clyro are some incredibly obvious examples) So atm how i pucture it is that it's like a race to get as good as i can possibly can in this style before I move on.

in my head I've already gone through 2 stages: The first being short sludgy fuzzy music when i first came up with the idea to record my ideas and mix them together over a year ago. The second was to try and become more progressive so more 'complex' riffs and just better technicality. Now I'm trying to explore new dimensions with feedback/modulation/reverb/effects in general and I'm enjoying it at the moment and there are a lot of avenues i can take which is very good.

Atm I'm just really fearful of comprimising myself into making softer music too soon in the case that future/current bandmates aren't as into as much hard rock as i am so hopefully being at the phase i am now i can find a balance between dreamy softness and balls-to-the-wall punk metal before i completely succumb and go in the direction of the former like all your old favourite bands. Because personally how i see it is that softer rock music requires so much more effort and technical ability to be interesting and I've still got so much to learn i'm not close to that yet so i hope i get to continue this genre i'm playing until i'm good enough to progress

Another instrumental. I've got lyrics for all these and i actually kinda like my voice on the version of this with it, but i just want to let the sounds speak first before i introduce that side of me. So speaking of sounds, with this it's quite a dichotomy, I like to think it's what would happen if you actually combined My Bloody Valentine with Sonic Youth. No not Sonic Valentine or My Bloody Youth, more like noise rock and shoegaze.... so... Noisegaze? This song is inspired by that part in the Matrix story which Morpheus talks about with Neo briefly: the war between the humans, and the machines and how the humans "scorched the sky" blocking out the sun to try and stop the machines from working. But I imagine this song is like getting out of of earth leaving the cold dead atmosphere and reaching "aether" or "quintessence" or "the fifth element" whatever you want to call it.  Anyway I hope you enjoy 8 minutes of organised chaos :)

In the back of my mind, i've got this weird sort of idea for an album theme called Generation Revelation (reminds me a bit of the Emancipation Proclamation) which is about our generation and different types of revelations (obviously) about whatever topic that is important to me atm, so now all my lyrics are gearing towards discovering or losing something. Anyway despite the cheesy name, the wickity-wackity wild guitar low in the mix which was complete improvisation, and the synth strings at the beginning i really like this one, it just sorta fits.

The idea for the sound of the song was a bit Pixies/Nirvana-esque but amped the hell up so instead of loud/quiet/loud it's more quiet/loud/Louder/LOUDER. Also minor key music is a staple in alt rock but it's often melodic whereas this is all fast and rhythmic. When I first made it I was touting it as the next great teen anthem haha i mean it could be it's got a very basic structure but I wont lie I dont see Xfm or Radio 1 picking this up any time soon, unless mid-song breakdown-induced headbanging becomes mainstream

You know when you're playing those arcade games with the guns and you run out of ammo and the screen is like shouting RELOAD! at you because you're getting shot at and you need to not die right now... That's basically the thought that went through my head when i was putting this together.  The first game of course was Time Crisis, so that made me want to make something short, fast, heavy and epic that would suit this game, as if it were to be on the soundtrack. If you listen closely there's a riff in there that is borrowed from some of the background music in the Time Crisis trailer :)

Gonna start uploading some songs I've made now Just rough ideas which I've recorded onto my iPod and mixed together via a free mixing software (because I'm poor) so expect really lo-fi but awesome stuff okay!!

Unfortunately they're only gonna be guitar and bass parts atm because i can't drum nor do I own a drumkit, and I'm not too sure of my vocals/lyrics yet I need to know if the main music is good enough in the first place before I start layering my voice on it (bearing in mind I do have actual versions with vocals/lyrics I just dont want to post them yet)

Also I say 'rough ideas' but a lot of thought does go into it it's not that much of a joke it is surprisingly quite difficult piecing together different parts  but when it all works out it's the best feeling and even though I'm very limited in the resources I have I firmly belief it's not what you got but how you use it, and I intend to, in the meantime, make the best very lo-fi stuff ever
