I can still drop links here, so check us out tonight on Https://Twitch.TV/StarkRavingRiley at 8 PM Eastern for Rifts: Gunmetal Soul. There's a fire that has been burning for a long time and we meet a new traveler in tonight's episode entitled Midnight Rider!
Also, I have posted episode 4 to the Gunmetal Rifts YouTube page! Find that here! I'll get episode 5 processed tonight. https://youtu.be/d9kS5_kPhIU
I have a Rifts game tomorrow. My plans for the sessions are currently pretty bare. I'm not worried at all.
They travel some more. Maybe encounter another weird small town. By tomorrow at noon, I'll probably have leafed through some monsters and if one catches my eye, it will show up. I know where they are headed and who they are. I have a city half prepped and some plot threads already laid out. If nothing strikes my fancy, I can always have them attacked by vampires. That's the nice part of Rifts. Weirdness and danger are in every shadow.
The best part is knowing your players are good enough to make anything entertaining.
I've spent another day doing a second run through of Pokemon Sword so I can complete my Pokedex up to 898 before I get Violet or Arceus.
Then I suddenly remembered I had planning to do!
Another Episode of Gunmetal Soul tonight on Https://twitch.tv/StarkRavingRiley at 8PM Eastern!
The group begins the journey East and encounters a suspicious force. Will they play nice?
Tonight is the session 4 (Again!) of Savage Rifts Gunmetal Soul. In the aftermath of the battle at Nitro, will they take an offer of justice or will they seek purity of purpose?
Join us Monday nights at 8pm Eastern on https://twitch.tv/StarkRavingRiley as we seek to find the Key.
I've been thinking about something that I want to "game-tolerance level" but that doesn't exactly fit. What I mean is, I find myself happier when I am playing at least one game a week and being Game Boss of one game or two games if it's bi-weekly. If I end up canceling a few things, it's no big deal, but when I don't have any games to think about, I don't feel settled. I get stressed more quickly. I need to not be me for a few hours a week.
On the other hand, I know I can't handle running more than two games at a time and playing in two weekly games. Putting myself I. More than that means I am probably trying to avoid some personal problems.
I have a friend who prefers to be running one game at a time, no matter how often it meets. He likes to put a wrap on one before moving on to the next. Sadly, we haven't been able to play the final session of his game in a while, but I think he needs to feel like it is closed before moving on.
Everyone has their own limits and it took me a long time to find mine. Has anyone else hit their limits?
I am working on an idea for a new Spelljammer campaign. One of the players is more into straight-up fantasy stuff. I am thinking of crashing a Veritch into the king's castle. This is going to take a little finess.
Knowing your players is a skill you develop. One trick is to see what makes them excited about their character and build a way for them to show it off. The challenge for a Game Boss is not to overcome the players' cool thing but to give them ways to show how cool it is.
"My character is super hard to hit, it's cool!" Awesome, here's three extra goblins who will charge you and make it worth having a high AC. "I just learned fireball!" Cool! Somewhere a door just appeared and inside is a 20ft radius room with six venomous snakes with (8 x 3.5 ((average damage on a d6)) = 28) 20 HP each!
Last night we called an audible on the Rifts game. One of the players wasn't feeling well and I reminded them that they shouldn't be miserable so others can have a specific kind of fun. We played Deeprock Galactic while they rested up. Fun was still had.
Games are good. Knowing my friend isn't miserable is better.

So this is a place, too. I am here now. It's no big deal. Maybe I'll post more RPG thoughts here.
