Of course she knew what he was asking, but Gwen wanted to hear him say it. If he felt the need to know the least he could do was ask her properly.

                  The wall-crawler inched down from his webbing, nothing                    like the awed slack-jawed stares of civilians to put a little                    bounce in his step. Just one of the joyous perks of being                    a superhero, but that aside, he still had business to attend                    to. Thus being the shattered glass of an otherwise fancy                    building.

Gwen really thought they were screwed, having someone break into Oscorp in itself was amazing and terrifying. Now she had to deal with peter being here as well, and yet she felt relief in knowing he was here as well.

"Pet-!?"

Gwen bit back finishing that sentence, as there were other people around. Although most of them were too panicked to even notice her mistake. 

Unsure of where the other intruder was, Gwen carefully made her way over to where Peter was.

"We need to get these people out of here, Peter."

Gwen whispered, unable to keep the panic out of her voice.

                                     "Right. So you'll just get killed instead!?"

Gwen hissed out, reaching out to grab the stranger. She didn't know who he was, nor why he was dressed the way he was but there was something dangerous going on out there and Gwen wouldn't let him risk getting injured or worst. It was bad enough Peter was out there trying to take control of the situation.

                                    "Just-"

Gwen inhaled deeply.

                                    "Stay here until the police get here. They'll take care of it."

In all honesty, Gwen wasn't sure she believed that.

"I'll be fine. I'm just not feeling great." The total opposite of great actually.

              ❝ Nothing——it’s nothing. Nothing’s wrong. I’m just,                                     I’m just tired. I’m fine, I promise. ❞ His mind had just decided to go elsewhere, that’s all. But he didn’t want to worry Gwen. They had enough to worry about at the moment. Besides, he didn’t want to talk about it, if he was really being honest.

Gnawing on her lower lip, Gwen nodded and lowered her gaze. She knew there was more to it than what he was telling her, there always seemed to be.

                               "Right."

Sure Gwen wasn't always in the mood to share how she was feeling, but it felt like that's all Peter did these days.

                        "Do you want me to make some coffee?."

It was getting later and now that she thought about it, she could at least use some caffeine.

                                                                             "Peter."

Gwen said, exasperated. They both had a huge exam tomorrow, and Gwen had been doing her best to help him study. Running her fingers through her hair, Gwen sighed and put her pen down.

                                   "Okay, what is it? What has you so distracted?"

She finally asked, leaning forward on her knees. They both had to be quiet, considering her mother didn't know that Peter was in her bedroom.

        “Probably not.” Even though he was in an institution full         of people specifically trained in fields of science, even         though the person speaking to him was probably very          well certified to help him, even though he was definitely         touching things he probably shouldn’t have been without         permission. 

        But he was fully qualified. Sort of.

Who was he? He certainly didn't look like he worked here. "I'm going to ask to see your badge." She may just be an intern here, but Gwen took her job seriously.

It was late at night and Gwen was still at her desk at Oscorp, typing away feverishly on her computer. Her fingers paused for a moment as she tried to work out what she had to type in next when she heard a loud crash some stories below her. Rising from her seat, Gwen stood there listening to hear if something else followed that sound.

"Can I help you?" Gwen asked, pausing near a table where a stranger stood, touching objects that were not his.

           ❝Let me         just see        if she’s available.              She’s in very high demand, as you - know.❞

    Mary Jane attempted to roll away,  her voice broken up by a mix     of laughter and an attempt to wiggle free from Gwen’s hands.

           ❝Ah yes, just out of meeting. Here she is.❞

    Handing over the phone, MJ sat up and ignored her mussed hair.

           ❝Oxford?❞

Her stomach sunk the more MJ talked to whomever was calling her about Oxford, this was not the time for her hi-jinx. As soon as the phone was handed to her, Gwen brought it to her ear and rose from her bed.

"Hello, this is Gwendolyn Stacy." Gwen greeted, ignoring her friend's question. The conversation went on for a few minutes, Gwen wrote some notes down. What time her appointment would be at their office in the city and when. Finally hanging up, Gwen turned to face her friend. "Yeah, I might be going there." She explained, not quite meeting her  gaze.

    Too late.

           ❝Miss Stacy’s personal secretary speaking.❞

"Mary Jane!" Gwen hissed out, body slamming against the mattress as Gwen reached out to try and snatch the phone away from her.

"This is Mrs. O'Connor from the University of Oxford, is Miss Stacy in?"

Gwen could make out the word 'Oxford' and that's all she needed to hear as she desperately reached out for the phone. Mouthing the word 'please' over and over again.

     ”Hey, sir, you cannot just take—        holy shit, alright, alright!” The cashier’s voice is just an anxious squeak as he disappears behind the checkout;; there are screams around him as soon as the people see his drawn gun, but the Soldier ignores it— he is used to screams and doesn’t get distracted. Muzzle still pointed at the check- out, the Soldier tightens his grip around the bag of food he’d stolen from the super market and heads towards the exit. He knows humans pay for goods and services but he has no money and after he’d noted the nauseating feeling in his stomach stops after eating he has no other opportunity than to take what he needs. Luckily humans are easily intimated by the mere sight of guns so he usually hasn’t much problems.

Gwen could hear her father in the back of her mind, shouting at her not to get involved. To let the police handle this, but the police weren't here. Not yet, and this man was about to get away. Gwen couldn't let that happen.

Reaching for the fire alarm, Gwen pulled it down and a piercing siren sounded. She needed some sort of weapon, though noting would compare to the gun the stranger had. The only thing she had on her right now was pepper spray, which her father always made her carry around.

"What’s the fun in that?" He asked, glancing down at her to make sure she was okay.

Gwen rolled her eyes at his question, she knew he'd say something like that. Maybe he took joy out of free falling, knowing he could stop himself from hitting the ground but it still caused Gwen to panic. At least until she realized he caught her.

If it wasn't late she would have worried about someone seeing this, as it were she was being lowered into the back part of the apartment building, which was just dumpsters. Fingers holding onto the string, Gwen looked back and forth between the ground, which was coming closer to her and then back up at Peter.

"What is this stuff made out of?" Gwen asked, never really questioning it until now.
