this phoebe album is so surprising!! it very much feels like a record to be listened to as a cohesive whole, very atmospheric
accepted the job :-) first full time role in editorial secured :-)
dealing with and being responsible for a mentally ill parent is so draining. i wish i completely detach but i just can't
there is a book/literature blog on here that's quite popular (they're also on substack and instagram) but i had to unfollow because so much of her content is just body checks...like look at me im super skinny...the books are an accessory to this. which is a shame because she's written some interesting stuff before but why has it always got to come back to this
The Quiet Machine Ada Limón
A summer evening, fireflies, and an annoyed doe wishing I would get out of her territory is about as great as it gets.
— Ursula K. Le Guin, from “A Rant About ‘Technology’”
yesterday i was driving away from my mother's home on the country lanes and up ahead a stag with beautiful antlers wandered into the road, right into a pool of light. i slowed to a stop and watched him and then a doe leaped out, too, and they both carried on across the road and into the forest on the other side. as i drove slowly past where they stood, i noticed a red kite on the branch of a tree had been watching them. i watched it look up and then take off. it was a beautiful moment in such a strange week.
