Guys what do we think Brock Samson's astrology sign is bc I lowkey refuse to believe he's an aries-
My friend @bitchy-hat-man and I messed about with his chart until it fit with the info we have and ended up with 4 May 1968 - 21:34
Okay hi good afternoon, in case anyone is interested, here is my reasoning/process and how I landed on this chart
Disclaimer: I'm only in season 4 of the show, el is rewatching with me, I asked them for opinions where needed as I know there's lore that idk yet that will add to things, but based on their responses to the things I threw out, I think this is about as solid as we're gonna get in terms of a chart for this guy.
First order of business was picking a sun sign for him. I tend to think of the sun sign as the baseline template for a personality. It's the core that everything else springs off of. Taurus to me is the sign of indulgence, in a very bodily sense. It's slow moving, goes at its own pace and to its own tune. Very grounded in reality, not super fanciful. Can be quite private, but not in a "it's none of your business" kinda way, more just like a "*shrug* you never asked idk" kinda way. I think this is very Brock. He is very grounded, earth signs feel very natural for him, he's also very uses to routine and set in his ways, which imo discounts the mutable virgo. He also lacks the complexes of Virgo and Capricorn, I think. He's confident in his abilities, and doesn't quite have the neuroses of the other earth signs.
From there it was a matter of choosing a year. To have been in college in '87, he had to, at the very latest, have been born in 1969. So I started there, but that gave him a Sagittarius mars that didn't shift during Taurus season that year, which just felt all wrong. Mars is the sign of energy in all its forms, anger, sexuality, how you approach a task and how your emotions get expressed physically. Sag mars is very will try anything once, which is very him, but it's also got a happy-go-lucky sense of whimsy that he doesn't have. Sag mars is also very runs from it's problems, bolts when mad, and lbr, Brock's problems are running from him, not the other way around. So I shifted him back a year to 1968, and that gave us an insane Taurus stellium (multiple personal placements in one sign create a stellium, which amplifies the presence of that sign's traits in the chart) that I felt I could work with.
Narrowing in further, we have a month and a year, next we needed a moon sign which would narrow us in on a couple of days. The moon sign is all about your inner feelings, the deepest version of yourself that only comes out when alone or when with those you extremely trust. Initially, we went for cancer, because he is very deeply feeling and despite not expressing it super openly, he is pretty in touch with his feelings, I think. Scorpio is a little too intense and unable to hide how it feels, and pisces, to me, is a little to go with the flow away-with-the-fairies for Brock. Also I think cancer in any emotional placement makes u a lil judgy sometimes, which i think is fitting lmao.
This brought us within a two day window, but on one side of that, mercury nudged over into Gemini, which is all wrong for Brock I think. Gemini is an air sign, it's very communicative, very intellectual, very chatty. Given that Brock is generally a man of few words, mercury needed to stay in Taurus. This honed us in on May 4th.
The final step was nailing down a rising sign. The rising sign is your outermost self, it's the you that you first present to new people, and it says a lot about your appearance and first impressions you give off. Instinctively, I went for either Scorpio or Capricorn. Brock has a very imposing vibe on first impressions, he *looks* like someone you don't wanna fuck with. Depending on circumstances, he can be softer beneath that, but I think his outer mannerisms do a lot for his intimidation factor, and he needed a rising sign that reflected that.
Capricorn rising did weird things to the rest of his houses that I didn't like. It put his sun and Mercury in the 5th house, which I didn't love. The 5th house is flirty, fun, kinda artsy vibes. Not Brock's vibe for his baseline personality and communication placements. It also left other houses empty such as 6th and 7th which I wanted to have more presence. So I scooted him over to Scorpio rising and liked that much better. It out his Chiron in the 4th house, Chiron being the sign of trauma and healing, and the 4th house being related to the more nurturing roles in your life, a familial vibe. Also this being in Aries gives the vibe that he's had some trauma surrounding impulsivity and acting without thinking and the repercussions of that and perhaps the relationships it has destroyed, and that he's in the process of healing that by forming new nurturing relationships. It leaves his Venus in 5th but I think that's fine, as it's tempered by his Saturn being there too. Venus is a sign about affection and relationships, Saturn is about restriction and anxiety and control. I think they're sorta balancing each other there. He wants to be more out there, but feels he can't. This vibe is added to by his Lilith winding up in Gemini in 7th. Lilith is the parts of you that you repress because you feel they make you stand out too much, but that you would gain a greater sense of self by stepping into and embracing. 7th is the house of interpersonal relationships, romantic and close friendships particularly. Need I say more?
I also like his sun and mars being in 6th. 6th is the house of service and health, and I like these core tenets of his personality and how he handles himself and his problems being in this house.
I didn't love his moon in 9th, because I felt that would make him a little too emotionally open and remove some of the depth from it, so I wanted to see if I could scooch his birth time over that it kept his rising in Scorpio, but put it his moon in 8th, the house of transformation, birth and life and death. Hence I landed precisely on 9:34pm.
And that's about it, there's other parts of his chart that I really like that ended up happening, particularly in the aspects, but idk if anyone is astrology brained enough to want those explaining and this is already long and probably more thought that anyone else would've put into this lmao
