short answer: yes

long answer: yes, but only because he agreed to it in the heat of the moment, and five minutes later he’s definitely tracking you down at some swanky hollywood party only to shout “Y/N I’M FREAKING OUT I DID SOMETHING BAD IDK WHAT TO DO” in front of a bunch of people you’ve been trying to impress all night. you laugh awkwardly and pull him off to the side and after he explains to you what’s going on you make him chug like 6 glasses of water and try to get through the night without making anybody suspicious.

(you’re pretty sure nobody suspects a thing - thank god - even after he keeps asking the bartender to play africa by toto even though it’s…. a cocktail party…… with zero music playing…)

She sat at the kitchen counter in the trailer her fingers tapping gently on the fake granite. Falling in rhythm gently like the rain outside. The clock read ten nineteen. He was due home over an hour ago. It was a simple run-in Greendale, same as every Thursday night. Leave around seven forty-five make it home around nine. It’d been like this for months now that FP had got them caught up in the running business by accident. Tonight felt different to her though, he didn’t ever forget to call. It didn’t matter if he was bleeding out on the side of the road he always called her. He always let her know what he was doing and time stamps on when he would be home. She sat there for half an hour trying to convince herself that he had got caught up in the rain. Light rain meant wet roads which could mean rough driving conditions, even in the truck. Her mind raced, each thought made laps in her head. Spinning around like tires on ice. Something was wrong. He didn’t ever forget to call.

His fingers traced circles on her hips, she’d just gotten back home from being away for a few months. Nobody really knew how he had stayed so faithful for her his track record saying that he’d be anything besides faithful but, it was her. And to Sweet Pea that was enough. She had this intoxicating effect on him, nothing in his life had ever been able to get him so damn angry but be able to calm him in seconds like she did. He was leaning to rest his chin on her shoulder as they all joked and caught up. Her hair smelled of strawberry shampoo and cigarette smoke, she smelled like home to him. He’d missed her more each day she had spent away from him. To be honest, neither of them had really known if this was going to work when she had got out, yet somehow they’d fit together the same as they always had.
