Arcana Voice Headcanons

You have NO idea how long this took me! First I had to browse through Youtube through Various videos to find voices that suit the characters, then I had to find clips of these actors speaking and now I’m gonna collapse

Anyways, here are my Arcana Voice Headcanons

Asra: Rami Malek

Asra’s one was difficult to find. But Rami has that kind of intimate voice that I think works really well for Asra. I headcanon him to have an Arabic accent, but until I can find it, Rami Malek will do nicely.

Nadia: Denise Gough

This voice just yells “Nadia” to me. It’s soothing to listen to, is mature but not “old sounding” and is a found which sounds self-assured and sophisticated, perfect for a queen Countess.

Julian:

This one took me the longest to find a voice I was satisfied with. This comes from Black Survival, a battle royal game not a lot of people have heard about, but I just think Alex’s voice suits Julian so well. (Plus, according to the bio, Alex is Russian)

Muriel: Richard Armitage

Listen, I said this once, I’m gonna say it again. Trevor Belmont is perfect for Muriel’s voice, and you can’t change me mind.

Portia: Kirsten Bell

This is the only voice I can imagine coming out of Portia. Portia is so similar to Anna, that I cannot envision another voice for her.

Lucio: Tom Hiddleston

I know it’s canon that Lucio has a Jersey accent, but Tom Hiddleston is no stranger to playing baddies/redeemed baddies and I think he could pull of Lucio really well. (Plus, just imagine him saying that he made an oopsie!)

The full and improved transcription of Nicky Valentino's Fictif route so far. Enjoy!

Here you go, the full transcription of our boy’s route. Let me know if the link doesn’t work, but you should be able to fully view and edit and download this doc. I paid for all the unlockable scenes so those are all in here as well.

Some general housekeeping and notes:

1. If you can’t download just copy and paste into your own document. Please don’t edit this file ON google docs and make your own copy before you edit anything, just so that it remains as accurate as possible for everyone who wants to view/use it now and in the future!

2. This took FOR-FREAKING-EVER. I was going to do just a plain transcription, but once I started I was finding quite a few grammar and continuity errors in the script (wanna hire me to work as a remote editor Fictif? Cause I will). So I fixed all of the grammar and spelling mistakes I found. Then I started rewriting portions of it to solve the continuity errors (for example, Nicky asks us if we’ve ever been sailing while we’re on the yacht, but he asked us that back at the pool before the scene change- so we would have already told him, assuming we’re not an idiot) and odd wording that made it harder to read writing out in a document like this. So it is not exactly the same as what is in the app. Parts of it are different. Dialogue and actions have been added, a few of them have been removed entirely. Just be aware of that. It is still a pretty accurate transcription. Just finessed a bit.

3. I ONLY TRANSCRIBED THE PARTS OF THE PROLOGUE THAT PERTAINED DIRECTLY TO NICKY. So the parts with any other romanceable options or even the movie theatre aren’t in here. (part of this was also because I wasn’t sure I wanted my MC to be from the future, so you’ll also notice that some of the dialogue has been changed so that she could technically be from the 1920′s originally)

4. Speaking of, I wrote this based around my OC, Beatrice. So there are parts of this that have been changed to suit her better as well. Not much- I did try to keep it a little vague because I knew I’d probably end up sharing it, and I’m going to edit and add a lot more of my own stuff now to my own copy- but just know that that did affect my transcription a little. I’m not stingy though, once you’ve downloaded or copy/pasted this onto your own computer, please feel free to edit all of the scenes to your heart’s content with your own OC’s! I would have left the pronouns and names more open-ended, but it would have taken a lot longer to go back and fix all that as well and I figure you guys might not mind doing that yourself because you know your OC’s.

Aaaaaannnnndddddd…. I think that’s it! I’m going to keep transcribing as it goes and I will add my transcriptions onto this same google doc, so it will keep growing! Just another reason to please remember to download it before you edit it yourself. Thank you!

The Red Plague: An Analysis

Ok, I’m to preface this that I am not at ALL a student of medicine or science I am just a humble blogger who really likes diseases, literary analysis, and the science behind death. This will also be a STUPIDLY long post so I am letting you all live by putting it behind a readmore this time

This goes without saying but there is a content warning to this. I’m talking about death, stages of decay, rotting, corpses, vomit, and other gross medical stuff. There will be NO images however. I subjected myself to viewing those images and I will not condemn you all to view them.

I’m going to start this off making sure everyone is on the same page and post an image from the art book about the Red Plague itself

So let’s start with the canonical facts about the plague first

Average life expectancy was 3-7 days once symptoms show, Averages are also liars which means it could’ve taken a little bit more than 7 days or under 3 days to die.

Spread by the plague beetles, exact method of transfer is unknown but Julian was force fed one and contracted the plague however they are safe to keep in containment.

Plague beetles also infected nonhuman objects like the water supply which is shown as a thick ichor. This ichor no longer possesses infectious properties at the time of the story

Julian believed that it had to do with a corruption in the blood hence the usage of leeches

The Lazarus started as a containment center before becoming a crematorium, meaning people believed that it was spread from contact or things like that

HOWEVER This is not the first appearance of the plague as it would show up at locations Lucio stayed for too long but no note if it spread from these locations.

It’s not a disease, its a curse.

So, this is one nasty plague on our hands. Most diseases that are this lethal would never be able to spread as much as it did unless it could spread from corpse contact or through other means like a carrier. I think that it could be spread through a combination of both which would add an additional need for cremation.

Petition for a re-read feature on Fictif chapters, same as the Arcana.

One of my favorite parts of Nix Hydra’s The Arcana is the fact that you can re-read literally any part of the story at any time if you have the keys.

I just assumed that would be the same on their new app Fictif, and that assumption affected how I played through Nicky Valentino’s story- only to find out you can’t re-play ANYTHING. It was super disappointing and especially since not many chapters are out for anything yet kinda leads to just forgetting the app even exists until you get a new chapter (also possibly forgetting what happened previously? I usually go one chapter back on the arcana when new stuff is released just to catch myself up to speed).

It makes it harder for fans to make fan art or write fan fiction, not sure why that’s not a feature on Fictif but I think it should be.

Also take this as a warning for anyone who hasn’t started playing Fictif yet- it is super fun, they’re doing a great job- but YOU CAN NOT REPLAY ANYTHING. Personally half the fun is going back and making new choices for me so that is kind of really super disappointing 😔

And we finally get to see what my apprentice, Hosanna, looks like. Honestly I started this blog to share her and my fanfic but then realized I’m not good at character drawing (even this I had to make in a portrait creation software)... so now I mostly post random game humor. I want to post more about her but without art to go along with it like everyone else has I feel like the posts fall flat 🤷🏻‍♀️
