Well, today was different. Figured out why I felt like total crap lately: my heart and lungs were surrounded by fluid. The amazing team of cardiologists at NYU got me right in, and after a quick 15 minute emergency procedure were able to drain 1.5L from my chest. Fun times! Spending the night here in the hospital, getting a CT scan and another procedure in the AM to drain more. Thanks for the prayers everyone! (at New York University School of Medicine)

Taking it one day at a time right now, but wow. Tapering off of prednisone is quite possibly the hardest thing I've ever had to endure. I feel horrible (an understatement) with an overwhelming amount of side effects. But I'm committed to the plan and I know this is temporary.
