His gaze travels until it rests on the young Exorcist, apathy crossing easily. Her question was odd, not as unfamiliar as one would think, but still something he hadn’t expected to hear in this place and time.

Smoke is exhaled, and the silence descends on the room once more, Bookman making no attempt at answering her. Proposal, huh? And between such young children to add to it. Unwise, perhaps, that someone would make a decision so suddenly. Much more that they would ask him.

Finally he begins to speak to her question. “That I have.” It is a slow, and after he resumes the silence. A child with no patience would have no patience elsewhere. “I have no knowledge of ever feeling such.”

Perhaps at a younger age he had felt something akin, far back in time. Yet even then discarding was far simpler.

“If you have truly thought such an event through and understood the consequences that come forth in doing so, then the personal aspects should come simply and honestly.”

He remains silent as the girl poses her questions, never once changing his gaze nor position. There is no discomfort, no opposition, and he remains silent for slightly longer after she finishes speaking.

“That was two questions.” He informs, humor lacking. “Age is a number that matters not in the face of history. History waits on no one, and he should understand that fact. Imposing ideas of his shortcomings in your perspective may seem helpful, but they are only opinions. I teach as I was taught, and he learns as he is given.

“Should he be unable to do so, then he holds no necessity to continue this path.”
