"I mean..." she dragged the words out deliberately, letting the silence do most of the work before a grin tugged at the corner of her lips. "Can you really blame me?" She tipped her head, looking him up and down with exaggerated scrutiny before meeting his eyes again. "You've got that smug little look on your face like you've either just talked your way out of trouble..." A beat. "...or talked yourself into it."

A quiet laugh escaped her. "I'm still trying to figure out which one it is." Her shoulders lifted in an easy shrug. "So, yeah..." she admitted with a playful smirk. "Maybe I am judging you a little." She nudged his arm lightly with her elbow. "But you've still got a chance to change my mind." Her grin widened. "Go on, Switchblade. Defend yourself."

wow. was he really that easy to perceive? then again, the glint of wolfish whites and the maniacal sparkle to his azure orbs seems to be a permanent fixture upon the visage of the switchblade. he supposed that he couldn't blame her. trouble followed him like a godforsaken middle name, if he's honest. and since jay's long-awaited return to action, he's taken to creating trouble with the number one focal point of his attention, the very root of his obsession. finally, he sighs with a shrug of resignation. " he retorts, swiftly snatching up the stolen shillelagh that was perched beside him. he looks at it with equal parts contempt and contentment. kissing the end of it, he begins to twirl it lazily. as rhea continues to speak, he cannot help but laugh. it's deep, brimming with a darkness he'd grown comfortable living in.
