another example of how even the squarest cars (literally and aesthetically in this case) can look cool with simple steelies and trim-rings

makes me wonder about how much even good alloys weigh... may not be any lighter than the factory steel wheels! gotta keep that unsprung weight down. alloys are stronger? maybe. maybe not. i am certain it depends on the wheel (style manufacture etc).
