Demanding Black people to pledge allegiance to the flag or “honor” the national anthem is a demand to show gratitude for being here. And behind all of the “patriotic” rhetoric is the seething statement “You ought to be grateful that we let you live here”. If the athletes are Black, there is a requirement that they show deference and gratitude for being able to play for an American team. Usually athletes are supposed to entertain. Black athletes are only valued for their ability to win awards and trophies for America. #Hate it!

Why am I to pay for the sins of my supposed for bearers? A majority of white people had nothing to do with these sad actions, yet I am blamed for the color of my skin, for my assumed ancestry. You seem to have a goal in mind of bringing equality to non white athletes, which is admirable and something to be sought, but most all of your arguments are from so long ago that anyone who has any say in what happens at the time is most likely dead or quite close. I will not be shamed by the actions of my forefathers, (not that anyone I’m related to was in the country before 1900), nor will I allow some modern minority of hateful people who match my skin tone cause me guilt. Work on fixing the future, not on attempting to shame an entire race for actions taken before they could do anything about it.

No one asked you to feel guilty. How about help us by bringing these racist people that look like you but don’t share your views to light. Hold them accountable and let them know that can’t continue. Yes, there are many white people that believe in equality and see what’s wrong in this country, but don’t tell a group of people to not be upset with what happened years ago. Because it’s continuing today.

Which is why we are upset and calling for attention and change.

New Details on the ‘Civil War’ Chase Scene!

The LATimes has provided us with a description of some new “Captain America: Civil War” footage that was showcased at a Disney shareholder meeting today! Here’s a breakdown, including related scenes from the trailers!

The clip started off with a car chase featuring a motorcycle and a black Audi SUV. The chase involved Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie). They pursued each other through a tunnel, which became engulfed in explosions generated by the skirmish.

Eventually, the characters emerged from the tunnel, only to be met by War Machine (Don Cheadle). It appeared as though he was on the scene to detain Captain America.

“Stand down now,” War Machine angrily told the captain. “Congratulations, Cap, you’re a criminal.”  

Black Panther then intervened, baring his metal claws and ripping off his mask to reveal his identity.

At its conclusion, the clip was met with generous applause.
