I'm going to start posting black beauties of the day because 1. lots of black women are overlooked in media and therefore unknown to the masses and 2. we've gotten a beating the past couple of years with "studies" and crappy stats so I want to start posting daily black beauties to show that YES some of us are just as feminine, beautiful, and put together as other women. Maybe you'll find out about some women that you didn't even know exist :)

Am I the only one not that excited about Christmas.

Nope. I personally don’t give too many damns. I’m not into gift giving anymore since I never see my gifts used really. Adding to other peoples’ junk, meh. Kids have too many toys so I’m buying activity tickets, like museum passes for my niblings. Tickets to a play for my Mom, things like that down the list.

I came outta tumblr retirement just to say FALSE!!! What calendar jumpstarted my love of calendars that i've then done every year now for no other reason than I adored the effort?? Who's clothes do I adorn myself with for epic events like the Diana Ross concert (hint, leopard skirt and shirt were from you as were the tights), whose books do i read on my kindle every christmas and birthday (not to mention the kindle was ITSELF a gift 1. from ariel and 2 the previous one from mama), whose makeup kit did I use for years? where are you getting these LIES? Yet, I ain't seen the Tiffany's necklace na'an one time since I gave it. I can rock it if you like

Miss Ghana 2013

Ghana’s Carranzer Naa Okailey Shooter made history on Saturday, by placing third in a highly competitive Miss World 2013 finals held in the Inonesian town of Bali. A rare feat that goes into the history books, the event was watched by over 3000, in a spectacular setting held at the Nusa Dua Convention Centre. Over 2 billion people also watched across the world, handing her a uniqueopportunity to sell Ghana’s image.

She perfectly did, on a night that saw her dazzle her way through history. Wearing a consistent smile throughout the rather tensed atmosphere, she caught the eye of many in and outside the confines of the event venue, splendidly rocking her blue laced-gown. And after nailing her question-and-answer round, it became all too obvious she had made history, taking the fight to the 126 others who took part. Saturday’s achievement and how it’s been received underscores the weight of the Miss Ghana brand, as the most prestigious in Ghana.

Shooter made it to the final five after an initial ten, and was eventually crowned 2nd Runner Up. Megan Young of the Philippines was winner, while France came second.This year’s event was hosted by UK top media personality Myleene Klass, and former Mr World Kamal Ibrahim.
