[水] - Struggling… struggling… strugg- Aaahhhh mou! So annoying! Tie, you string! Open sesame! Wait. No. That’s for doors. Tieyourself-sesame? Yeah, whatever. Mizumachi stopped struggling once Honey offered to help because he had not one… but TWO hands. AHA! That totally escaped his mind!
He held out his wrist for Honey and waited for Honey to tie the other end of the string onto him. Once finished, he lifted his arm up and let it fall down, watching the way that Honey’s wrist moved along with his movements. He couldn’t move his arm too high up though, unless he ran the risk of just dislocating Honey’s shoulder.
Mizumachi has done that before and it wasn’t fun, let him tell you that. Hearing Honey’s question, he tilted his head to the side, thinking hard on the question. Well, they just had to simply MAKE them give the two of them a string, right? Just now, he just ran by and snatched one up. It wouldn’t hurt to pretend they hadn’t gotten one yet and ask for a string?
He coiled most of the string into his hand and he took a hold of Honey’s smaller hand in his own. Off to the tables once more, swinging their hands while humming a random playful song to himself.
“Hey pretty miss, I finally found my partner! Sorry for bein’ late, can ya give us a string? We can’t get started without one, right?”
Flashing the carefree and innocent smile he was well known for, the lady in charge of the table didn’t find it suspicious at all and handed him a string.
With the string in hand, he looked at Honey with a victory sign. They have successfully completed their ‘get the extra string’ mission!
He got another string! Mizu-chan had actually managed to get another string! But the way he got it didn’t make Honey feel so good. While he was fine with lying in order to hide a secret, like a surprise party, he didn’t like to tell little white lies for something as simple as a string. There was a chance that the lady at the table wouldn’t have cared if the extra string was for Bun-Bun. Still, he didn’t say anything about it, because they got the string!
Just like Mizu-chan struggled with the string earlier, Honey realized just how hard it really was to tie it with one hand. He even guessed that now it was even harder than it was for his partner, considering that his small hand was tied to the other’s significantly larger one.
“Mizu-chan, do you think you could help? Bun-Bun doesn’t know how to tie knots,” he lifted his untied hand up, string and Bun-Bun being held in it. Once the three of them were tied together, then they could finally start racing!
Thinking back on it now, maybe it wasn’t the best idea to have brought Bun-Bun along. One hand was already tied, and the other one was going to be, so that meant that Honey didn’t have any hands left to really do anything. The worst part probably wasn’t that the challenges were going to be more difficult for him now, but the fact that if he got hungry, it was going to be hard to eat without making a mess.
Dance! | Honey & Mori
dangdogdays:
Takashi smiled as he walked, letting his eyes shift close as he followed the sound of Honey to navigate his way. How he usually preferred to walk. With Honey, though he would always worry about his cousin, he knew there was nothing that could challenge them, and so the only time he could really relax was when Honey was nearby. Instinct and all, it could be tiring.
“I am always proud of you Mitsukuni.” Takashi said quietly, resting his hand on his head. “You don’t want to be too late do you?” Takashi urged honey on, sticking his hand back in his pocket. “How are your classes so far this year? Have you made more friends?” Takashi asked, as per usual. it was a constant conversation. Takashi would always want to make sure Honey wasn’t being bullied for his preference for cute things, and more than anything make sure he was happy.
Takashi placed his hand on top of Honey’s head instead of picking the boy up. It made him feel a bit dejected; back in high school he would constantly be piggyback riding Takashi, and now, three years later, he felt like he was being treated like more of a middle schooler than an elementary school student by his cousin. Although he was well aware that he should be more mature, Honey liked being treated like a small child! Life was a lot easier (and fun) then!
“Mmmm, none of my courses are too hard,” he responded, thinking about what he had this semester. He only had five courses this semester, all of them being very mathematical based, other than English. He disliked English so much, mainly because it was mandatory, and had only gone to four lectures so far. “My English professor is such a big meanie! He won’t let me eat in class, and I get hungry so quickly,” he whined. In the past, Honey could actually get away with most things, since the professors usually knew very well what family he came from. But this professor either didn’t know, or just didn’t care at all! Honey was so used to having special privileges throughout his life for being a Haninozuka, and not being treated like that now made him feel like a commoner.
“And I haven’t really made any more friends than before. But everyone’s really nice to me! The girls in my physics class always leave a seat for me so that I can eat with them!”

Let’s RACE! (Valrace)
friendlyoceangiant:
[水] - At least Honey was having fun being quite literally dragged around all over the place. Mizumachi was a bit too energetic for his own good most of the time. Most onlookers may have worried about Honey’s well being due to him flying in the air, but if it truly bothered him, he’d speak up–right? That was the thought at any rate, so this had to be A-okay!
“Nhaa!Faster? Sure hope you can handle that!”
He picked up the pace a bit, hastening his pace closer to a running jog than the trot he was going at moments prior. Being a guy who was very ‘my-pace’ on top of being someone who doesn’t always think his actions through… he was running around in circles as he hadn’t the slightest of clues of where he was going.
It was when Honey spoke up after the announcement was made that Mizumachi stopped running around. They needed to find some string, that’s right. Okay, where to find it. Where to find some string to tie around their wrists. Honey mentioned something about a table being full of them over ‘that way.’ His feet came to a slow stop as he looked around for this table. It was good that he was tall since he could just overlook people’s heads for the table.
“Over that way…? AH! I see it! Let’s get that string! After that, we can go and win this, haha! Alright get reaaaady, i’m gonna go full blast! Hold on tight!”
He moved Honey so he’d be latched onto his back. Sort of like a koala of sorts. Mizumachi had to make sure that Honey was going to be holding onto him well so he doesn’t go flying off, hurting himself. Getting into running position, he made a mad dash for the table with the red strings. Running for the table, he grabbed a string and came to a skidding halt.
“Alright, let’s tie this. Let’s tie your wrist first. Now for mine…”
Watch as Mizumachi now struggles to try to tie his own wrist. Someone help this hasty guy.
Mizu-chan lifted up Honey, and placed the small boy onto his upper back. Without question, Honey circled his arms around Mizu-chan’s neck to hang on tight, just as he was told to do. He had also moved Bun-Bun from his hand to being squished firmly under his armpit, to make sure that there wasn’t even a 0.0000001% chance that the bunny would fall. Even though Honey was sure that he’d be able to find it if it fell, he didn’t want to risk it. Plus, it would take away time from the race!
This wasn’t even a weird position for him. He loved to ride on Takashi’s shoulders whenever he could, and this made the race more enjoyable! With or without his super ninja speed, Honey’s preferred method of transportation was always on somebody’s back or shoulders (or, how it was moments ago, being dragged). It was a lot more fun that way~ Unless it was a long distance. Then he preferred a limo.
The giant tied his wrist with the string, coloured bright red. Then he watched as he fumbled with the string, clearly unable to do it himself. But it wasn’t like Honey looked down on Mizu-chan! Oh no! He was actually proud of him for trying so hard to do something so difficult! “I’ll tie it, Mizu-chan! I’ll have both hands free if I just move Bun-Bun-” He bit down on Bun-Bun’s ear and the toy dangled in his mouth. Honey then tied the other end of the string as best as he could. A muffled “Tada!” came out of his Bun-Bun stuffed mouth once he finished.
Bun-Bun now in hand and out of his mouth (quite honestly, stuffed rabbit did NOT taste good) and wrist tied, Honey was ready to start the race! Then he realized something. “Shouldn’t we also tied up Bun-Bun? Do you think they’ll let us get another string? He is helping us.” A slight pout appeared on Honey’s face. He knew that Bun-Bun would be sad if he didn’t get to fully participate.

Let’s RACE! (Valrace)
friendlyoceangiant:
[水] - Surely enough, Mizumachi did have a bit of a childish side to him along with him just going along with the flow… just like the water itself. He felt as though going along with everything that comes your way was a much easier way of going about things rather than trying to fight against it.
Life was just way more fun when you tried to get along with everyone, after all.
He looked down at the trial written down for ‘Arcane’ and he laughed a bit nervously. Him? Play a host? That sounded fun and all, but he wasn’t sure how… good he’d be at that. He’d probably just make everyone mad.
“I dunno how good I’d be, but i’ll do my best! I guess this would make you my host senpai! Teach me a lot Honey-senpai!”
Mizumachi grinned enthusiastically, feeling rather pumped for the challenge to see whether or not he had what it took to be a host probably not. He was ready to go running off towards Arcane (though he didn’t know where it was) when Honey’s words had him remembering the whole ‘gotta be tied together’ thing.
“Ah! My bad! Hahah, I forgot all about that! Yeah yeah, we gotta get tied together! Let’s go!”
With that, he took Honey’s hand and ran off! Gotta find someone to tie the red string onto their wrists! Hard to do so when you only got one hand available to you! Excuse as this guy completely didn’t realize that his partner who still had two hands available to them could tie the string around his wrist and he could do the same for his partner!
Gotta speak up quick if you’ve got a better idea Honey, or you’ll quite literally get dragged around all over the place!
Suddenly, Mizu-chan grabbed his hand, and started running. Effectively, being to small and light (especially compared to this giant), Honey was pretty much flying through the air, just like a flag in the wind. With the hand not being held by Mizu-chan, he he tightened his grip on Bun-Bun, not wanting to lose the precious toy in the crowd. This was fine.
It actually was fine. In fact, Honey found it to be fun! This guy was so much bigger than Takashi, okay, maybe only by ten centimetres or so, but it still made a slight difference. Right now it felt as if Honey was flying even higher and faster than ever before, but that might be because Mizu-chan’s build is a lot bigger than his cousin’s. “Wheee! Faster! Faster! Faster!”
He was having too much fun. The boy was giggling like a maniac, loving the feeling of the wind in his hair, even though it was quite cold outside, and loving seeing blurs around him. He could probably go on like this for hours and hours, not having another care in the world.
“All teams, make sure that you have picked up a string from any of the stations and have tied it around your wrists. Otherwise, you will be disqualified from the race.”
The announcement came from a loudspeaker, and Honey felt like it was specifically for them. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, but it sure was helpful! Still flying around, he tried to suggest as loudly as possible, “Mizu-chaaaaan. Let’s go get that string! I think there’s a table full of them over that way!” Of course, Honey would be perfectly content if Mizu-chan continued dragging him there, since it was so amusing~
Let’s RACE! (Valrace)
friendlyoceangiant:
[水] - All his jumping around had paid off! He found his- Arraaaaaaa? Did he… not find his partner? He looked down to look at who tugged on his shirt to see… no one. Maybe they left? That’s when he heard a voice and that’s when he chose to look even lower.
Woah! Small. Hey hey! Don’t you go thinkin’ that he’s making fun of him or anything, alright? He knows that even smaller dudes offer a lot! He had lil what was it again? Omusubi? Naahh, it was KOMUsubi, wasn’t it? Yeah! He was even shorter than this guy and he still managed to beat him on the line.
Mad respect man. He learned a lot then and now he just looks at shorter people like people hiding secret power, ya know?
“Nhaa~ Honey, is it? Nice to meet ya! E-Eh…? Bun-bun…?”
A few seconds went by with silence on his part, staring down at the pink bunny. He had… good ideas? EEeehhhhhh–?? He couldn’t hear anything though?
“AH! I get it! Only Honey can understand Bun-bun, huh? I leave it to ya to translate bunny language to me then! Hahah! Yeah! Let’s win this! So– what first?”
Mizumachi, being the good and playful sport he was, he held out his hand and lightly shook Bun-bun’s hand with a cheerful smile on his face. He wasn’t against going along with the flow as to not ruin someone else’s ‘flow’.
Now looking at the list, he didn’t know what to go with first. There was just so many! He didn’t know how good he’d be on… any of these activities. Why wasn’t a pool involved? Or Football? Come on, guys!
Honey wasn’t sure whether it was understanding bunny language, or more of a mutual understanding. Realistically speaking, Bun-Bun didn’t have much to say considering he was just a stuffed bunny. But that didn’t stop him from having bad ideas! Whenever in doubt, Honey would always ask him for advice. For some reason, it always helped.
Mizu-chan shook Bun-Bun’s paw, and Honey instantly knew the three of them would get along just fine. If he was willing to be friends with Bun-Bun (and not just scowl like some people did), that meant that Mizu-chan had a childish part inside him, just like Honey did!
“Uh, first?” He scanned the paper containing the challenges, trying to see if there was anything relatively easy to do as a warm up. His chocolate eyes landed on Arcane, being way too familiar with the place. "Oooh! I work at Arcane! Bun-Bun and I are experts when it comes to hosting!” And the challenge was pretty much the same thing as whenever he went to work! This was going to be a piece of cake!
And now the boy was thinking about cake. When was the last time he had eaten? It felt like ages ago. He had left his house after eating a fairly large breakfast comprising of Thai food (his chef had whipped it up, wanting to experiment a bit), and he had gotten five doughnuts as a small snack on the way to the event. It was, twenty minutes, in that case? No matter how long it was, Honey was starting to feel hungry.
Wait, he had to focus on the race! Food would only cost them time! Not eating for another hour did seem a bit sad, but he would survive, probably.
Then he noticed that all of the other teams around him were tied at the wrist with a red string. He vaguely remembered the announcement saying something about having to be tied together the whole time. “Mizu-chan, maybe we should go get tied together first!”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITSUKUNI HANINOZUKA
A not really birthday - birthday? | Drabble
Nobody was ever sure when to celebrate Honey’s birthday. Being born on a leap year, it was always oh so confusing to them whether it should be the 28th of February or the 1st of March. But it didn’t matter to Honey. His birthday was on the 29th, and that was that. He wasn’t going to choose a different date for his birthday, only because it didn’t happen annually.
Technically speaking, Honey was 21 now, whether you would consider his birthday to be the 28th or the 1st. Still, every time he looked in the mirror, or thought about the way he acted, it was clear what Honey’s true age was: five. He was five in the sense that he was only 4′10″. He was five in the sense that he could practically live off of sugar, ran around with a stuffed bunny, and needed occasional reminders to brush his teeth. The only thing that didn’t suggest that he was five was the fact that he attended university instead of kindergarten.
He stared uncomfortably at the cake in front of him. It was a large strawberry shortcake, his favourite kind of cake, with bright blue letters written in icing (probably a blue raspberry flavour, since the cardboard-tasting icing only came from cheap bakeries, and this cake was obviously imported from Honey’s favourite bakery in France, as he could tell from the signature way the sponge was covered perfectly even on the sides and on the top) saying ‘HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY MITSUKUNI!’
His servants, or maids, as he should call them, had gotten him the cake, despite them knowing how he felt about it not really being his birthday. It was a simple mistake, one that anyone could make, but it still formed a pit in Honey’s stomach. His body didn’t look like it was growing older, and neither did his mentality mature.
Really, Honey was afraid of aging. He was afraid that if he admitted that he was 21, while looking like a five year old child, nobody would accept him. At one point in his life, his parents had expected him to act manly. Hard as he tried, nobody took him seriously. He was a joke, with the people at his dojo only whispering kind words about him only to make him feel better, and girls creating fanclubs because he looked cute. He was the laughingstock of the family. There was no use in fighting who he really was: a child, in and out. Tama-chan had helped him realize that. People wouldn’t take him seriously anyways, even if he did want to try to be more manly.
In his opinion, there was nothing wrong with celebrating his birthday every four years, and adding one to his age at the same interval. This was who he was, and he accepted himself to be this way.
“Bun-Bun, let’s eat!” Honey cut Bun-Bun a small piece, put it on a plate, and placed it in front of the bunny. He also cut himself a piece, this one being more than half of the cake, knowing that it would make his servants happy if he ate it. They did order it all the way from France to Rouves, and he was grateful. True, Honey did eat cake on a daily basis, but this specific cake was filled with love. Still, he made sure to scrape off the letters, refusing to eat that part.
Three more years until his actual birthday!
Let’s RACE! (Valrace)
@blackbeltbunbun Aayyyy here’s the starter on my end~
[水] - WOooOw! Look at all these people gathered for this race– thing! He didn’t really have a partner in mind for the event when he signed up, but the fliers did say that you could get paired up with a stranger. He’s totally okay with that!
He didn’t really understand the point of this event– since he only cared to read the word ‘RACE,’ but races means ‘competition’ and that means ‘someone’s gotta win it!’ He liked winning! He registered himself to the event rather last minute at the spur of a moment.
Looking down at the paper, he looked around for his soon-to-be partner. He could tell that the person was at least a Japanese person so that made things easy! Cupping is hands around his mouth…
“HANINOZUKAAA-SAAAAN? I’m Mizumachi Kengo! Come on out to play with me, partner!”
He was excitedly jumping about, hoping to get a better view of his partner, or to even just help his partner find HIM– the jumping giant sea urchin.
There were so many people. So, so many people that he couldn’t even see where the registration station was, being one of the shortest people there. Actually, if he wasn’t mistaken, Honey was actually the shortest one there, apart from the children that were under the age of 12.
There was no doubt in his mind that he and his partner (whomever it may be) were going to win the race. It wasn’t Honey’s ultimate goal, as he mostly had everything he needed at home with just the wave of a hand, but he was not going to lose without trying his best. A lifetime of martial arts training had hopefully prepared him for an event like this. A race full of challenges had to contain things like fighting and using physical abilities! Right? Right?! Of course, if his brain was needed, Honey was ready to use that too!
“HANINOZUKAAA-SAAAN? I’m Mizumachi Kengo! Come on out to play with me, partner!”
Wait, that was him, right? Honey was the only Haninozuka that signed up for the event, right? Chika-chan had stayed home, stating that he didn’t want to participate in a ‘stupid race for fleebags.’ So the person must have been calling for him!
Despite being so short, Honey found his partner relatively easy. One, because his partner literally was yelling his name, and two, his partner was a giant. A literal giant. The man was at least a foot and a half taller than Honey, clearly standing out in the crowd.
The small boy pushed his was over to Mizu-chan, as he now thought of him, and tugged on the bottom of his shirt, trying to get his attention. “That’s me! I guess we’re partners, heehee. You can just call me Honey. Oh, and this,” he lifted up Bun-Bun, holding onto the stuffed bunny’s paw tightly, “is Bun-Bun! He always has great ideas, and will definitely help up out! Let’s win this, Mizu-chan!”
Putting this under a read more because I’m just being tired and stupid, as usual xD
I found this out while searching for all the characters birthdays to enter into my calendar and it makes a lot of sense. Some other things I learned: Takashi Morinozuka’s birthday is May 5th, which is Cinco De Mayo Tamaki Suoh’s birthday is April 8th, same as me, which means he’s an Aries (the ram) that explains his personality lolol Haruhi Fujioka’s birthday is February 4th, which is stuffed mushrooms day Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin’s birthday is June 9th, which means their sign is Gemini (the twins) Kyoya Ootori’s birthday is November 22nd, which means he is a Cusp - Scorpio ( the scorpion) and Sagittarius (the archer)
Hope you enjoyed this weird thing on Ouran birthdays haha. There’s probably more little things but I’m lazy. But my two favorite birthday facts are probably the fact about Honey and that Tamaki and I share a birthday!
Dance! | Honey & Mori
dangdogdays:
Takashi checked his pockets once more for his keys and phone, triple checking his possessions and his attire. Only in a tank top and some gym shorts, Takashi felt a bit bare going out into public looking as such. “Hn.” he nodded to himself and walked for the door, prepared in case Mitsukuni decided to pounce him.
“The class will still be there.” Takashi offered a small smirk to Mitsukuni, jangling his keys in his pocket as he walked. Trthfully he was excited, it had been awhile since he had danced. Though it seemed like an odd hobby or form of entertainment, he did enjoy it and the feeling of potentially looking silly.
It was true that the class won’t be going anywhere soon, but he was oh so impatient! He didn’t want to rush his cousin any more, and luckily Takashi was ready soon enough. “Yay, you’re finally ready!” Honey ran over to him, and hugged his legs out of excitement. He just had so much energy contained in him that he had to let it out somehow!
“Oh, Takashi! I remembered to brush my teeth this morning! And I also left Bun-Bun at home, to keep Chika-chan out of trouble! Are you proud of meeeeee?” he asked, knowing that it would make Takashi happy that he was taking care of himself, and trying to be more adult-like. After all, at the end of high school, the two did end up having a battle, where Takashi won, and Mitsukuni had promised that he’d only bring Bun-Bun out with him once every three days. He tried to keep to the promise as much as possible, although it was very hard. Sometimes it would be too hard, so he’d bring Bun-Bun along with him, hidden in a backpack or something.
Still, the fact that he was taking extra extra good care of himself meant that he was even healthier now, and was fit as a fiddle to dance! And even though he had all that extra energy, Honey instinctively reached up for Takashi, making hand motions that indicated he wanted to be picked up.
