Not to start anything, but sometimes the complaints y’all have against “capitalism” are really just parts of being a functioning human adult. You’re gonna have to do things you don’t like to do sometimes. That’s quite literally how this whole “being alive” thing works. If you’re trying to make an argument for dusting off the old guillotine and starting the revolution, you’re going to need a better reason than “I don’t like waking up early.”

I got dragged by leftblr for saying that socialist countries force you to work. The USSR would jail people for missing a day of work. You’re not actually a few beheaded rich people away from a life of ceaseless bliss.

Not only that, but the State picks your job. You’re not going to receive endless free checks to fulfill your dream of writing / drawing Marvel AU ship fics of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers except they’re both trans POCs. If you do get to create professionally, you draw what the State tells you to create. Hint: it’s gonna be propaganda posters of workers staring nobly into the distance while holding hammers and sickles.

And no, you don’t get to do commission stuff on the side. That’s private enterprise. That’s capitalism.

I once had someone try to argue that any form of communism exercised within a state isn’t real communism because communism is about abolishing the state.

Guess they missed that whole “dictatorship of the proles” bit.

There going off the straight economic distinction which is more a circle. And both pure communism and capitalism are just no state. While Socialism and Fascism are entirely the state. To date there’s never been pure forms of any of the four bad words of economics.

Oddly any pure form would be an outright dystopia. Pure capitalism is basically a protection racket, pure communism can be usurped by sociopaths, pure socialism is a bureaucratic mess, and pure fascism stamps down any and all who fuck with the highest up’s income.
