@yokelfelonking
this is my favorite pop team epic
I want to write about the lore regarding the guy in the third panel:
You guys are right that the guy eating food IS the dad from Crayon Shin-Chan. There is an official spin-off that is a gourmet manga starring Shin-Chan’s dad.
The silent man in the third panel is a reference to a certain artist on Pixiv who became a meme because he kept posting gay fanart of himself together with Shin-Chan’s dad, titled “Hiroshi Nohara and me”. Sadly it seems like his account is deleted now.
Anyways that’s the lore! The more you know!
I deadass don’t know how to respond
Like this:
Something that has recently occurred to me is how people interpret scripture is influenced largely by how they imagine God's voice - specifically, His tone - when He speaks.
The Bible talks a lot about how loving and patient and kind God is, but I'll confess that, in the back of my mind, I had trouble squaring that with how He always talked to people - angry, irritated, yelling, scolding, berating. But it occurred to me: is that actually what He's doing, or is that just how I'm imagining His voice?
Example: in the book of Joshua, they've just suffered their first defeat because someone stole something they weren't supposed to and broken the covenant God made with them. And, to be fair in this part, it says that God is angry. Joshua falls on his face before God and starts wailing, asking why God led them out there if He's just going to let their enemies destroy them.
"The Lord responded to Joshua, 'Get up! Why are you falling on your face? Israel has sinned: they have violated the covenant I have commanded for them. They have taken something that was to be destroyed, stolen it and hidden it among their possessions. I will no longer be with the people until they remove what was set apart for destruction from their midst.
"'Get up! Ritually consecrate the people and tell them this: 'What was set apart for destruction is in your midst, O Israel! You will not be able to stand against your enemies until you remove what was set apart for destruction.''"
How did you hear that in your head? When God says "Get up! Why are you falling on your face?" is He yelling at Joshua like a drill instructor, or is He someone speaking calmly to let Joshua know he's overreacting? When God is telling them that He won't be with them as long as they're in breach of covenant, is He yelling and being petulant, or is He calmly laying out what happened and what they need to do to remedy the situation?
When God says "What have you done?" after He confronts Adam and Eve for eating the fruit, are you hearing the voice of an angry parent who just caught their kid stealing cookies from the cookie jar, or of a shocked and horrified parent who just found that their kid got into the medicine cabinet and downed a whole bottle of pills?
Why do people still say “this doesn’t fit my blog theme but I had to reblog anyway”? It’s almost 2018. Who gives a fuck. Who even has a coherent blog anymore
Reblog if you’ve never had a coherent blog and got no intention of starting that shit now
Fever is a hilarious immune response. Our bodies tell the disease “hey, wanna see which one of us dies of overheating first? No? Too bad.” and honestly they’re not even the winners a decent chunk of the time but it works often enough that we never evolved it away or anything. Fantastic work.
this reply is killing me
The Asian honeybee deals with hornets entering their hive by dogpiling the intruder and rubbing against each other, producing heat through friction. Hornets have like two degrees Celsius less heat tolerance than bees, so the bees survive and the hornet dies.
They also do that because the Germans voted for it
It wasn't the desert when the whales were there.
It was, you can tell because there's a bowl of petunias in the background.
i read this to adam and he just yelled, outraged, "THEYRE BABIES"
TRUE HATERS, SINCE DAY 1 THEY HAVENT BEEN GIVING THEM A FUCKING INCH
this is next level
20 years later. you're kermit. opening night at the muppet theater. you look up. you can't believe it. those two awful cunts from next door are here. neither of them died yet. they're going to be here, forever.
They're immortal.
They were heckling the actors in Ford's theater on the day Lincoln was shot.
They heckled the first reading of the Epic of Gilgamesh.
They heckled the first lifeform to crawl onto land.
They heckled the big bang.
"They say that time exists now."
"I can tell."
"How so?"
"Because this show is a waste of it!"
"DOHOHOHOHOHO!"
Please pray for me, I fell into sin
Saw someone say that Jacob's victory in wrestling with God came not from the wrestling itself, but from clinging to God and asking for His blessing even after God had crippled him.
"Research from the Center for A.I. Safety finds current AI models are fundamentally anti-White and anti-Christian. For example, GPT-5 values White lives at 1/20th of non-White lives."
Because it's demons
One of the weirdest things about marriage is that my husband knows things about me.. like today he brought me some donuts someone had given him.. "I ate the last chocolate donut sorry... jk I know you don't like the chocolate donuts" he's right.. I don't care for the chocolate ones. But the fact he knows that?? I don't know it just always blows my mind.. like what do you mean you know some little detail about me that normally I'd have to repeat over and over and over again to people and it wouldn't register with them but you.. actually REMEMBER things about me? wild
the weird thing about being a leftist is the government calling you a radical extremist and your family believing that youre a radical extremist and the whole times your main political beliefs are shit like "we live in a world where we could very easily end world hunger, homelessness, most disease, poverty, ect. and the people in power are choosing not to, and thats evil and should change" and that bigotry is bad
Cute objectives! Why don't you tell us your plan to achieve them?
They never have a plan past "these things should be real, and if they aren't it's because we just haven't killed enough people".
Every Leftist imagines they will be the executioner of the children. None ever realise they will be the ones who are shot.
An entire generation of men is now named Aiden, Braden, Cayden, or Jaden. What in the fuck. I mean why even use first names if everyone’s name is going to be the same.
There’s two Hayden’s in the training group I’m in. wtf.
At least in Chicago the Catholics had more options - Michael, Christopher, Joseph, Francis, etc. At least those have different sounds.
Must suck being a teacher with fifteen Aiden’s in your class.
