When androgynous people say we want more clothes for us, stop assuming we just mean... ungendered clothes.

We also don't always mean gender neutral clothes from different cultures that already have some things figured out.

When amab enbies want skirts that fit us. We mean fucking skirts that fit us. End of detail. We don't mean kilts, we don't discreet plaid black half gowns, we mean we should be able to buy pink sparkly bubblegum dumb shit without being ostracized or even having to pick them up in a women's section of a store at all.

"Unisex clothes" really can be as simple as "traditionally women's clothes made accessible for men." And "traditionally men's clothes made accessible for women." That way we can completely blur the divide with more articulate gender neutral fashion.

But until y'all rid yourselves of the inherent transmysogny in the way you look at androgynous fashion, good gender neutral lines, brands or even just popular etsy shops are not going to pop up out of thin air. Brown or gray sacks are not the answer to this problem. Cross aisle accessibility to the fashion we already have is.

Also like, please let’s take a moment all to recognize that mens clothes are designed for the “average cis male body” and likewise womens clothes for the “average cis woman body”. Which means it’s not actually as simple as saying “well go shop in the other section then”.

Like, mens shirts are not cut to accommodate boobs. This is like the number one butch lesbian/transmasc complaint I hear about clothes lol. I still to this day find a lot of mens shirts uncomfortable at the shoulders, can’t tell if I’m too broad or too narrow there by cis standards. Lots of transmasc folks (or even just, short cis men) have trouble finding mens pants or shoes that fit right. Likewise a lot of trans femme folks (or even just, tall cis women) have a hard time finding shoes, dresses, pants, etc that fit right.

Point is, creating “non-binary clothing lines” should really be more about creating a more diverse line of clothing that a variety of people can wear
