Welcome to my Mess!
I’ve been going through the Studyblr community for a while and noticed a lack of other members like me. I’m a low-income, Black, smarty-pants who wants to share some advice with others and add to a community lacking in diversity right now. Fancy pens and journals aren’t helpful when you can’t even afford them, so I’ll give budget-friendly alternatives.
I’m currently a High School Junior and I’ve taken 3 AP exams to date: AP Computer Science (4), AP World (5), and AP Human Geography (5). I’ve taken the PSAT 3 times and plan to take the January SAT in a couple of days (fingers-crossed for a 1470!). I’m in 3 AP classes (AP Stats, APUSH, and AP English Lang) and 2 dual enrollment courses (Macroeconomics and US Gov) this year. I plan to take AP exams for all 5 courses in May.
I’ll be posting about fee-waivers for testing and college apps, affordable colleges, free summer and fly-in programs, importance of extra-curriculars, navigating the college application journey as a low-income and/or first-gen student, and so much more.
Feel free to message me if you need guidance or help with anything! I want to give others like me the support I would have liked to have when I started High School.
