Altogether now... "They're not real frieeeeends..."
The hotel wifi appears to be working this morning so I figured I’d kill some time before showering - these were our outfits for the Black Cat Cabaret on Friday night. That’s my wedding jewellery, and I was wearing it with a ankle-length plain black dress.
The show was pretty awesome. We hadn’t booked for the accompanying meal so initially we were perched on the edge of the room, but we were able to move to the front centre table directly in front of the stage because it was empty for whatever reason. This meant we got heckled a fair amount by the performers which was fun! Our table got set alight when Vicky Butterfly swung out on the aerial rope - the candles set fire to one of the menus and some glasses got knocked over. Kris also got hit in the face with said rope by accident later on. I don’t think the table was pushed far back enough…
Anyway I think there’s a few snaps that Anna posted of some of the acts, so I guess I’ll reblog those shortly.

Fire breathing, backwards burlesque and a 5 minute number about something being a bit too hard…
The Black Cat Cabaret is the perfect mix of the weird and wonderful.
Knee-slapping, gob-smacking and down right dirty, this is not be be missed.

"Performers for the evening included a wide variety of burlesque, vocal, variety and circus acts, starting with a brilliantly choreographed number by the immaculately dressed Cabaret Rouge and followed by hand balancer Sammy Dinneen, who walked down the double staircase head first! It was also lovely to see the multi-talented Laurie Hagen performing her incredible Reverse Striptease, which I had been wanting to see live for a while."

“All the best of the monsters played for sympathy. That goes for my father, Karloff, myself and all the others. They all won the audience’s sympathy. The Wolf Man didn’t want to do all those bad things. He was forced into them.”
