Like my head has been going through a lot for this headcanon like it's really giving me a headache when I puzzle it out
We all know Hayato has no love interest or crush or romantic attraction towards anyone, like no one. But, even if he has one, he'll not be sure if he could ever love that person truly which makes him feel a little down and tell himself he would never be enough for someone.
And yes I'm targeting HayaRyuu angst, BCS omg I need their angst so bad that I'm starting to tweak
Anyway, go back to the insecurity topic, if like IF Hayato does have romantic feelings towards Ryuuichi, I swear that boy doesn't have the courage to tell him how he feels
He is afraid if he does, Ryuuichi would just be thinking Hayato is weird and whatever he is thinking and would ruin their friendship
But if Ryuu does accept his feelings, he's afraid that he'll hurt Ryuu's feelings one day just like his dad did to his mom and he doesn't want that to happen. (Idk but his parents divorce right?)
Like can you imagine, Ryuuichi asking whether Hayato likes him or not out of suspicion then Hayato panic then out of nowhere, he just said "what? What are you talking about? Boys can't like each other" with his bluntness
And since Ryuu is the one who asked, he would totally be embarrassed and said "yeah, you're right. Sorry" because asking someone who's blunt and straightforward like Hayato with the stupidest question to them, it's already hurt enough to hear their cold answer.
Then Hayato regrets and tries to explain but Ryuuichi just brushes it off then walks off to go home

Plus, Hayato really cares about Ryuuichi and so does his feelings, he doesn't want Ryuu to be hurt by his bluntness, it's cruel. Can you imagine how Hayato would snap out and confess then he's sorry
