Honestly Sebastian, you ‘smell’ the blood which means that you could have just slowly sniffed a bit around to locate from where the scent is coming. But no, you went into a ‘panic strip’ mode and tore Ciel’s clothes off as if they were on fire. Say what you want to, but in this chapter it became more obvious that his concern is not only about the soul which houses in the fragile vessel(body) but also about the boy as in whole…. I mean he is always composed, only with Ciel does he crack and that is honestly just so interesting. No matter if it is him bursting out with laughter for the very first time, him holding back chuckles because he simply just can’t hide his enjoyment when his little grumpy master is named ‘Smile’-oh the irony, or the panic when he sees his master in danger- from reapers to small dots on his arm it all sets him cracking his posture. The fact that a little boy got so under his skin….is simply amazing. Ciel does deserve more recognition seriously, it is like making a feral animal acknowledge you, respect and protect you because you are something special in it’s eyes.

Thank you very much for this. I was thinking that the shipping fandom prefered to make enphasis in how Sebastian stripped the boy in the carriage as a simple fanservice issue, ignoring the fact that that scene shows how the character is evolving on it´s own, showing concern. The fact that he apologized for being unable to scent the danger before and how he rushed out searching for help (in a symilar way of the green witch arc) show how much Sebastian is evolving himself as a character. Even if we could say “he´s still a demon raving on a soul and fakes concern in order to not lose his meal.” yes, that´s a fact, we can believe that. But I honestly was thinking “aren´t we gonna talk about how Sebastian panicked before and apologized after that scene?” and how he snaped from demonic eyes to a completely concerned expression in one second.

Yana loves fanservice but also loves to justify that and merge it with plot and leave audience to free interpretation. And that´s what I like, it´s not just empty inuendos going around.
