blackfire cultists concept for my au this is just a vague idea and they can look like whatever btw
Azrael the once and former Batman this week 063021 1 (he's looking good and having a good week this week)
Cross and Halo (St Peter’s Cathedral, Adelaide) by Dino
It had been two years since The Deacons failed takeover of Gotham, the city had long since recovered from it and all but forgotten him... He coudnt have that.
Word had reached The Deacon quickly, a girl was lying unconcious in one of their strongholds. She had recently fought The Bat and scouts had managed to divert attentions long enough for his people to grab her before The Bat saw. She was strong, both in will and power. She would make the perfect soldier.
Blackfire travered the sewer systems with his entourage until making it to the underground fortress, built into the ruins of old Gotham, one of many he obtained during his short reign. He made it to the girls quarters just as she was waking up...

Nightshadow's body ached as she laid unconscious, her fight took a lot out of her. She hadn't even noticed where she was before passing out. The 13 year old was still a child after all and while her energy was vast it did deplete.
Eventually she started to wake, "Ow...my everything." That stupid bat was the last thing she remembered before things went dark. Slowly she sat up flinching as a new pain ripped through her body. "S-Shit.."
She looked around, "W...Where am I?" This wasn't Arkham or the streets of Gotham. Did Batman take her here? Is this a batcave? No. It didn't seem like it was.
She took a deep breath and nodded, she was still unsure about this. Two-Face could be unpredictable, with that coin of his plus he has two pistols that he uses? She was scared of him, well scared of all the rogues that could kill her if she wasn't careful.
She looked around the docks, he certainly wasn't being subtle about his location. She was still on edge but with Blackfire by her side perhaps it was less terrifying.
She looked at him, "Split up maybe? I take one warehouse then you take the other? Keep his attention divided or keep his attention on one of us?"
"I... I dont know, listen I know you're tough and can handle yourself better than most it's just." Blackfires face became more sorrowful "Two Face is dangerous and... and I dont want you getting hurt. Im not sure what I'd do if I was responsible for you getting killed." Blackfire perked back up "Anyway, Dent likes two. Might as well continue that theme"
She looked at him, was he doubting her? Or was he genuinely worried for her? She couldn't tell, she never dealt with this before. It was new and scary territory that she was getting into. He was right about one thing, she could handle herself, and she has.
She looked at him as he perked up, "Yeah. Keep it two." She still had a bad feeling about all of this.
They crashed through the ceiling window, shattering glass and the cries of thugs rang through the warehouse. Blackfire's boot met a jaw, leading to the first of many broken bones of the night. He dodged and smashed his way through a small cluster of men, slowly inching his way towards Two Face. He turned to check up on how Night was holding up. He saw a group of thugs aiming at her blindspot... SHE HAD TO MOVE
"NIGHT! WATCH OUT"
Blackfire threw a batarang, it hits mark... But not before a single shot rang out.

She helped them carry out all the gear, she wasn't sure about the outfit but she supposed that would be nice.
Once settled back at their base of sorts she was still around Blackfire. She looked at him as he told her the plan. Undermine the Bat? That did sound a little crazy but then again he seemed so smart about all of this.
When the lights cut she looked around, her eyes fainted glowed till they turned back on. She saw his outfit and couldn't help but laugh at it, "This? This is your plan? I mean don't get me wrong it's a good plan but is the costume necessary?"
"Of course, do you think people would care about The Joker if he wasnt some deranged clown? Look at the Marones, the Bertenellis any crime family in Gotham. They prosper and thrive, purely because they dont have spandex clinged to them at all times, do you notice the everyman? Look at me I've amassed an army and nobody care, because we're not wearing masks. I say we start to make the people care."
She took a deep breath, "Alright. If this is your plan then I suppose I'm in. Just seems a little over the top." Though she would be interested what it would be like to have a costume. "Do I have one ready?" She asked looking around.
With the wave of a hand, Blackfire's men wheeled out a manniquin, adorned with a black combat suit with navy and purple trim.
"I took some liberty with the colours, I hope they are suitible, and to top it off" He held out the domino mask, now coloured a deep purple.
Her eyes shimmered as she looked over the mannequin. "Holy shit! That...that looks amazing! I love the colors!" She went over to inspect it. "Oh Blackfire this is amazing! Thank you."
She turned to him and saw the mask, she took a deep breath and grabbed it gently, "This is the happiest I've ever been."
Upon hearing the words Blackfires eyes began to well up.
"Child... I... I am happy that you're happy."
There was a brief moment of tender silence between the two.
"Now onto business. Scouts have reported that Two Face's gang have split their newest haul between two warehouses and are keeping it hidden until they can find a fence to sell it off. How about we confiscate that. Start to make a name for ourselves?"
She smiled at his reaction, "Yeah. Me too." She chuckled.
However at the mention of Two-Face she tensed, "I've never gone up against another rogue before...that sounds like a death wish..."
"Have no fear child, You will not only have me... But the full force and weaponry of The Batman combined with my own trained and competent men backing you up. It will be an easy job."
And with that reassurance, they made their way to the docks, where they found their prey. A small shipping warehouse split in two in every aspect, from the paintjob to the wardrobe of the men guarding it. It didnt take much effort for the group to take out any outside forces. Blackfire ordered his men to keep watch outside. Cant have the New Batman and Robin being seen with a militia.
They made their way to the roof, Blackfire turned to Nightshadow -
"How do you want to deal with this?"

She followed him the whole way, her heart and mind racing at the thought of what they were going to do with all the stuff they'll steal from the Bat. This was really happening! She wasn't dreaming! This was the happiest she's ever been in a long time. She couldn't believe this man just came across her and just like that gave her life changing information!
She formed her wings and shook her head as he offered the grappler gun, "I got it covered thanks."
Blackfire smiled, he fired up the grappling hook and ascended the cliff face at break neck speed, it didnt take long for both of them to make it into the main atrium of the batcave.
"We're here specifically for the enhanced batsuits and armour, anything else is secondary, but dont discard it."
Blackfire dashed for the line up of bulletproof manniquins. He grabbed the cowl and utility belt for himself, and offered Nightshadow a small domino mask, which had belonged to a Robin suit.
She flew down with him and landed in the Batcave. Everything looked almost exactly like she imagined it to look. So techy and advanced. This was where the magic happened! She couldn't believe she was here!
"Huh? Oh yeah okay." She said breaking from her thoughts. She looked around and formed a few large shadow guards to grab what they could. She looked at the mask, "Boy Wonder's mask? So...old fashioned. I mean I don't know if I need one." She put it on, "Do I look good?"
"For what we have planned... You look perfect."
Blackfires men and the shadowy goliaths had grabbed a small arsenal from the armoury and they made off out of the batcave, leaving it resembling a post black friday shop more than a paramilitairy headquarters for a rich orphan and his child soldiers.
They arrived at the main stronghold located under the chapel in Old Gotham with weaponry in tow... It was time for stage two.
"Now, Nightshadow. Stage two requires some unorthodox tactics. I plan to undermine The Bat, while also benifiting ourselves, to do this I've had my more creative men custom fit the suits we took to our specifications..."
Blackfire left the room for a second, the lights switched off, submerging the room in darkness. Then, almost instantaneously they were brought back on, and there he stood. The new Batman.

She grinned an awful grin, "Fuck yeah I'm in! Let's destroy the Bat once and for all!" She couldn't wait to see the light leave his eyes! To see him broken and bloodied at her feet. This would be her moment of glory!
If she could take the Bat down? Imagine what she could do! Maybe even take down Joker! Oh that would be amazing!
"Good" Blackfire's words had a distinct exitment behind them. "My followers are already in position surrounding Wayne Manor, they'll deal with any outside interferance from other capes or cowls that wish to help The Bat. A follower of mine has given me access to a private commision of the ground under Wayne Manor. He has a secret lair full of his weaponry and technology. That is the target, once we grab what we can we rendevouz here and discuss the second stage."
"Wait wait wait! They found the Batcave?!" She asked in excitement, "Just imagine what we can do with that tech!" The child couldn't believe what she was hearing! This was incredible. "We should move now!" She looked at him.
"Your exitement is inspiring child. My people are already in position to supply backup, we will be approaching through the aquaduct that connects Wayne manor to the Gotham harbour. The sewer tunnel that leads to them is this way, we should move."
"Yeah! Let's go give Brucie boy a nice little visit." She smirked wickedly. "This is going to be so much fun!" She got up and out of bed, she seemed to have forgotten about the pain from her last encounter. "We'll fuck his shit up!"
"Your eagerness is contagious young one," Blackfire coudnt help but smile at the destructive teen. "Bruce will get his due, but remember, first we're going to steal everything that superficially makes him The Bat, so we can tarnish the reputation. The goal tonight is to steal a batsuit and as many gadgets as you can carry, I have a plan that you may find interesting"
"Okay okay. Steal shit then destroy Bruce." She said. She couldn't believe this was happening! The other rogues couldn't possibly get this far on their own! She was going to rub this in their faces! "This is truly a great day!"
The two made off through the sewer systems, eventually making it to a clearing overlooking Wayne Manor. Blackfire's devoted had already cut the outgoing power and applied a signal blocker. He had also made sure to get his men in the GCPD to flip the bat signal. Nobody was going to disturb them. They circled the perimeter of the house and made it to a steep cliffside, at the centre of which was a man made hole for the Batwing to exit. Blackfire pointed at it.
"Theres our entrance. Would you require a grappling hook?"
Blackfire held out the small handmade gun, wrapped in a spool of fishing wire.
