Black men, you can’t call black women fake, complaining about us wearing weaves, makeup, or plastic surgery when your WCW is Kylie. When your WCW is a foreign or white woman with a face full of makeup and hair extensions.
Black men, you can’t complain about black women being ghetto when you were cheering when Gucci Mane got out, when you listen to Future, when you know every lyric to every trap song, when ya boys out here dressing like they sell mixtapes at the gas station out the trunk of their car. Ghetto is okay, as long as it’s the men not the women right?
Black men, you can’t complain about black women’s standards when you all make a check list of the type of black women you want before you can even date a black woman to begin with. You tell black women if she doesn’t look like Rihanna, with a body like Teyana Taylor or a Kardashian, with Michelle Obama’s education, Oprah’s money, and the lifestyle of Mother Teresa, but when a sista says all you need is a proper hygiene and paying job it’s met with “Yall need to lower your standards that’s why you don’t got a man”. Yall can have a check list of standards right?
Black men, you can’t expect us to be behind you when you vent about “The white man”, racism, and other forms of things you feel target you as a black man, but when we talk about things that target us as black women like racism, colorism, misogynoir, intraracism, classism, and respectability politics “You tell us to shut up and stop fucking complaining”, so you want us to put a fist in the air for you, but we need to shut the hell up when it comes to us right? And Lord knows we better not ask for reciprocity right?
Black men, you can’t tell us not to be angry, when most of the time yall are angry about every little thing yourselves. Why is anger okay when it’s coming from you but not from us? We’re angry black women who are bitter, but yall aren’t angry black men who are bitter? Aren’t we both black? Isn’t that what you all say when we tell yall we might as well focus on ourselves, when you call us divisive for doing so” We all black” well you’re right since we’re all black then you should be able to understand that black women have a reason to be angry like you as well because we’re black and experience discrimination, racism, and lack of inclusion. You only have a right to be angry, not us right?
Black men, you can’t police our behavior and our bodies and then complain about white America doing you the same way. It doesn’t work like that. When a white man or woman tells you how to wear your hat, your hair, your clothes, tell you how to speak you find it disrespectful and insulting to your integrity as a black man. God forbid they call you a thug, then it’s racism and prejudice. So why do you think it’s good to do it to black women? Why do you perpetuate the same discrimination/racism towards the women in your own community, that you complain white America does to you? As a black woman we get it from white America and our own community how do you think we feel?
Black men, you can’t tell us how to look when yall gobble down Arizona tea, hot wings, flaming hot cheetos, McDonalds and other shit, while looking like you ain’t bathe in weeks, but we’re suppose to look like we hopped off the runway in New York fashion weekend every day of the week for your appeasement while you look like hell with a beer gut, and not just from beer.
It’s not fair, that you all think you can dictate the lives and bodies of black women, but when done to you, you get mad about it. It doesn’t work like that. It would be “ ONLY RIGHT” if you all would stop treating black women like white America treats the both of us already.
