finally remembered my tumblr password
it’s been a hot minute....what’s been happening?
#mood
i’ll just leave this here.
I mean…
....
Me when people try to force a Tina Fey show on me...
And why don’t non-Black people of color ever demand half as much from white people, white celebs –white institutions etc., who actually have fucking power– as they do from Black Americans? Black people have the #BlackLivesMatter movement and guess what? we are still getting fucking killed without justice! Why are you yelling at us because you’re being ignored? it literally is not connected to us in any way! Don’t be mad at us for self advocating.. You’re not being ignored *because* of this fake notion that there’s ~so much unfair focus on Black people~, you’re being ignored because white supremacy! Regardless of us!
Millennials are often stereotyped as being lazy and entitled, and Nick Offerman is not here for it. Speaking at the WORD bookstore, Offerman addressed the issue and sent a message to anyone discouraged by these stereotypes.
I’m don’t agree 100% of what Nick Offerman has to say but I do like the idea of people rejecting the idea that all millennials are lazy, naracistic, dead ends.
Coffee in the Morning
Coffee in the morning and I remember her skin in the summertime. Each tiny hair on her body glistens in the sun, and for three days we have nothing to do.
Coffee in the morning and I can feel her lips on my stomach. It’s so hot that her breath feels cool, and we ask ourselves how many more times we can fuck before exhaustion steals our will.
Coffee in the morning and I can smell her on my pillow and fingers.
Coffee in the morning and I remember.
Chemical flames.
Pretty!

BREAKING: Here’s the tweet that could lead to a new grand jury in Ferguson, MO.
#Ferguson: @shaunking took screenshot of tweeter @thesusannichols who claims to know juror on #MikeBrown #DarrenWilson grand jury & appears to be receiving leaked information. King says that within seconds of posting this, her friends told her to delete it & she did but not before it was screenshotted. She has since deleted her entire account but King says they checked & she is indeed a #STL resident w/ years’ worth of tweets from there. “If true, her tweet not only reveals a leak in the grand jury, but gives us an ugly glimpse into how things have gone so far. This person who posted it on twitter & her contact on the grand jury must be fully & completely investigated & removed if it’s true.”-@shaunking
Y’all better reblog the fuck outta this post it on facebook, twitter, IG, myspace, friendster, everything get this information out
Holy shit

Wow, I appreciate this
Definitely doing this when I move
When I was in college, I began Kindred*, and that was the first (novel) that I began, knowing what I wanted to do. The others, I was really too young to think about them in terms of ‘What do you have to say in this novel?’ I just knew there were stories I wanted to tell. But when I did Kindred, I really had had this experience in college that I talk about all the time, of this Black guy saying, ‘I wish I could kill all these old Black people that have been holding us back for so long, but I can’t because I have to start with my own parents.’ That was a friend of mine. And I realized that, even though he knew a lot more than I did about Black history, it was all cerebral. He wasn’t feeling any of it. He was the kind that would have killed and died, as opposed to surviving and hanging on and hoping and working for change. And I thought about my mother, because she used to take me to work with her when she couldn’t get a baby sitter and I was too young to be left alone, and I saw her going in the back door, and I saw people saying things to her that she didn’t like but couldn’t respond to. I heard people say in her hearing, ‘Well, I don’t really like colored people.’ And she kept working, and she put me through school, she bought her house – all the stuff she did. I realized that he didn’t understand what heroism was. That’s what I want to write about: when you are aware of what it means to be an adult and what choices you have to make, the fact that maybe you’re afraid, but you still have to act.

pro Black spaces are so hard to be in when you’re a dark skinned girl/women because lighter Black folks will try to impose the same patronizing bullshit they would drag a white person for on you. like y'all some hypocrites and I’m tired. and it’s not even just a tumblr thing I’ve had it happen at anti-racist teach-ins, poetry slams, police brutality actions it’s gotten to the point where if i see someone lighter than a paper bag with cowie shells in there dreads i have to brace myself. please stop
9 times out of 10 I’m not one of those “this needs more notes” bur any discourse about colorism deeper than “dark skinned girls are pretty uwu” gets passed over like a Jewish holiday
the easiest way to lose followers is to talk abiyt colorism in so called pro-Black spaces. you can pro-Black and still do a huge disservice to dark skinned Black girls. y'all blatant colorism has divided the community and I’m not sorry I said that
Me and my family are praying that you don't actually name your son snowdrop. No disrespect, just a terrible name for a human being. Great name for a white dog or cat!
Snowdrop is the name of my ancestors who fought and defeated the Great Northern Ice Wolves, how dare u.
this is a ruse to get you to name your child snowdrop for real (I’m 30 years old and still act defiant when someone tells me no)
Me and my family are praying you name your son eclipperton, just my personal opinion
What about PAYING us? Eh????
I will pay you any amount of money to name your son “Gimli, Son of Gloin”.
U know my love for LOTR… And use it against me? Treachery.
Gimli. Son. Of. Gloin.
How much is this going to cost me because I will pay whatever it takes.
(Bonus points if his first sentence ends up being “And you have my axe”)
