BLACK PITTSBURGH is a website that is introducing the world to the Black community of Pittsburgh, one story at a time. The media in Pittsburgh needs to tell a more complete truth about the Black community in the city. An excuse often offered by the media for why they don’t cover more positive stories is that they simply don’t know enough people doing positive things. If that’s the reason, I am here to offer a potential solution.

It was reported that the black students at Gateway High School in Monroeville were being called racial slurs. The black students responded by wearing all black in solidarity to support the Black Lives Matter movement! It's said that the student who organized it was arrested but the students who were making the racial slurs were not punished. They are being labeled a gang and the Black Lives Matter movement as a hate group. Parents are claiming that they fear for the lives of their children. What are your thoughts? As we look around we see more and more of our Small Black Businesses closing their doors. Investors put restrictions and limitations on us. Furthermore we are being pushed out by increase rent cost and the actions of Corporate Funders. If we want our rights to be respected then we need to speak up, stand up I need each and everyone of you to take a stand. Lets take action!!! Lets protect the land that our ancestors worked so hard for us to have. Show how important our businesses are to us!!!!! Come out bring your neighbor your family and your friends.
