Real people do real things.
“Ojibwe is a language of 8,000 verbs. The word for ‘work’ is a strange construct for us. It doesn’t mean we aren’t a hard-working people, but in our language, the word is anokii, which means that whether you are fishing or weaving a basket, what you are doing is living—which is not the same thing as being paid a wage to do something.”
— Winona LaDuke
Societies ills
Bi weekly pay.
Bottled water.

When I first saw this scene I had a kneejerk reaction to the truth being spoken on screen to a person that isn't colored.
The president should have real skills. A real life. Have gotten their hands dirty from time to time.
The athletes are on the right track to be honest.
Ororo Monroe!!!
Another of my faves. Waiting for a decent portrayal of her and her powers. Enough of the underpowered versions we keep getting. Turn Gaia loose.
““The world is very clear on its feelings toward black people, but the question I pose is why? What did black people do collectively to the world to warrant such aggressive behavior toward us?””

The purpose for studying Black history is not to find out how great you were. It is to find out what mistakes were made that got us in our current situation.
They even use our history as a form of misinformation. Using it as a means of focusing our attention on what was, rather than what can be. We are highly unlikely to achieve the feats of the blacks of the past without some level of unity and a comprehensive strategy for ADEQUATE reparations which will allow us to set up a system similar to that of the natives.
Happy Black History YEAR!
Greatness.
loving how my old history teacher talked about them like a terrorist group
boost me up
Wow okay so for those skimming, there’s a memo up there from THE DIRECTOR OF THE FBI that sets a mission to LIE about the good things the Black Panthers were doing, spread rumors of them being terrorists, and terrorize the communities supporting them.
If you think the Black Panthers were terrorists and you’ve never heard of the community-building, it’s because there was a literal government conspiracy to make you and people 45 years ago think that way.
i’m reblogging again (bolding mine), because people need to fucking know this. especially white americans.
You know I'm in on this one! Especially the cointelpro memo telling them to use anonymous communications, information dissemination, and furnishing information to high level individuals.
They got some nerve. Our case for ADEQUATE reparations is so strong. The future is going to tell this story we are slowly developing and refusing to allowed to be covered up and forgotten.
As a news station it is VERY unprofessional to block someone because they call you out on your blatant lies and discrimination
The way racism is practiced these days you would think you are the one being ignorant or intolerant. This hybrid classiest/racist/sexist/generally biased society is so casual about their injustices. Which is why it's so important they stick to their narrative. That way they can continue in their ways without any real changes. Sprinkle a few blacks, Latinos, Asians and then it's all good.
Night vision with color, from here
Duuuuuuude 😮
Will always reblog
I was super confused until I saw the stars 😲

Capitalism.
I kind of want to cry
Global capitalism needs to die.
Textbook example of Marxist alienation, specifically alienation from the product of your labor. Workers under capitalism have no connection to the things they work with, nor any say in the cultivation or sale of those things. Just one of many ways in which capitalism deliberately limits human freedom and wellbeing.
Please, they need to be confronted with more of these realities in order to truly see the impact of this system on the people they never see. The life that everyone is trying to emulate, the life portrayed in the media, is just a program to push reality further from view.
Reality vs the matrix
