{While the two were interacting little Byakuya started to get restless. A small grunt informed her that he was close to tears. Fukawa’s reaction was almost instant. The baby was soon being bounced in one arm before she leaned in and place a light kiss on each of his cheeks. When she pulled away the little boy was giggling and gurgling as usual. A rare gentle smile spread across the literary girl’s lips as she looked down at her child.}
{The whole series of actions only took a moment or so. Soon enough she facing the serious looking female once more. It was a strange day for both of them. Fukawa had never be quick to offer help to someone and Peko did not seem like the type to ever receive help in any way.}
"N..No…Not at all. If you would just excuse me."
{Fukawa’s lips upturned a little more as she placed Byakuya on the counter safety so he would not be able to crawl off of it. Gently she took the knife from the other girl and began to cut thin and even slices. The author had always been in charge of making dinner for her family so chopping up vegetables was a simple enough task for her. The constant thump on the cutting board was comforting and relaxed her enough to talk freely with the other student.}
"I-I’m Touko Fukawa by the way. If…If you have any trouble with your baby..um…feel free to ask me. Only if you want to though…"
That girl's name sounded somewhat familiar, but Peko wasn't sure where she had heard of Touko Fukawa. Perhaps it had something to relate to Fukawa's talent.
Peko glanced at her baby on the counter. He was unusually quiet for a baby, but Peko was glad that she didn't get a noisy baby similar to some of the other student. The baby was still playing with Peko's sword. It was sheathed, but it still poses a hazard to the boy. That baby's fascination with her sword has been a real dilemma to Peko.
Peko then obeserved at Fukawa sliced the vegetables evenly. Peko had to admit, she wasn't that good at cooking. She was a lot more adept at baking, and liked to do so.
"I appreciate your help, I'll keep that in mind," Peko replied. It wasn't likely that she would ask for help like that again, but it was good to know. "I am Peko Pekoyama, it's nice to meet you."
Peko then turned her attention to Fukawa's baby. The other girl's child seemed quite happy to be with her, and vice versa.
