Cody wasn’t angry, so much as scared. It wasn’t unusual for Blake to go running off to some kind of booty call, that much Cody had grown accustom to by now. But when he heard news of an omega getting attacked, and from the Terra pack no less, Cody’s anxiety was at an all time high. Part of him was worrying that what if the paramedics got it wrong? What if they thought it was an omega but it was actually just Blake. And he couldn’t reach him, or help him, and… the thought just knotted his stomach up. So there he was, pacing the floor of their apartment. When the door opened and he came face to face with his friend, Cody paused. He shook his head at Blake and waved the boy off. “Shut the fuck up, asshole.” He mumbled softly, before all but pouncing on him in a tight hug. “You had me worried sick! Where did you go? What were you doing? Don’t you charge your goddamn phone? Are-are you okay?”

“Oof,” was all that managed to leave his mouth when Cody squeezed him tightly. It didn’t came as a surprise that the older boy was upset with him, but this? Then again, he had been worried too when Matty had told him an omega got hurt at the Halloween party, and was relieved to see him safe and sound in their apartment. “I... My phone died, I guess it just didn’t fully charge last night. But hey, just calm down for a sec, Cody!” In an attempt to sooth the omega, he gently rubbed circles on his back. “Yea, yea, I’m fine... Just ask me whatever it was that you wanted to ask, and fuck off,” God, he hated how snappy and moody he was being, especially because he knew damn well that none of it was Leo’s fault and that he was just trying to be nice. A heavy sigh fell from the beta’s lips. “Sorry, I just... no, nevermind, just forget it.”

Admittedly, he was scared to find out. “So, you saved their life? That’s... pretty badass of you, Matty,” Blake remarked, raising his brows in surprise. “Are you sure you’re okay, though? You look a little out of it.”

Only the Ignis pack seemed to have a motive for wanting to hurt the omega, but then again, Blake didn’t know the wolf who got attacked, even though he was part of his pack. It very well could have been one of their own, maybe they tried to kill them out of anger or jealousy. It wasn’t really fair to jump to conclusions like that, so he decided not to push it, also because it was rather scary to think about. “...A warm bath?” a look of disbelief crossed the boy’s features. It was a tempting offer, especially since they couldn’t afford the heat bill this month, and he had been taking cold showers all week, but he found it difficult to trust the male, considering how the other had treated him. “Okay...” he hesitantly nodded his head. “...And what’s the catch?”

The boy’s eyes grew wide when the alpha leaned forward, gulping slightly when he called him out on his little ‘slip up’. He wanted to apologize, but then again, Max was looking at him as if he was a steak that he was ready to devour, so that probably meant he was into it. Being called a ‘’little boy’ made his cock throb in his jeans. Truthfully, Blake had been avoiding the lot of them ever since he confessed to Roman that he had been sleeping with his husband, and he was wondering if that ‘tea’ had been served to his brother Max yet. Either way, the other male seemed to be in a good mood, so he felt like it was safe to assume that he hadn’t heard about it. Or maybe he was like Roman, and just pretended like he didn’t care, for whatever reason. This family was so wild, nothing would surprise him anymore. “Yea, it’s been a long day, but I’m almost done,” the boy sighed, running his hand through his ginger hair. “A gift? For who? Your brother, or did you finally score a date on Howlr, daddy? Shit, I mean, uh, Mr. Moretti!!” his eyes grew wide as saucers when he slipped back into his ‘old ways’. No, he couldn’t do that anymore. He just couldn’t mess around with that family again, not to mention the fact that he really didn’t want to give Phoenix the satisfaction of being right about him. “Uh, I don’t know? I’m not like, good at picking out gifts for people, sorry...” he quickly added, knitting his brows into a slight frown.

Blake wanted to believe that the older male was sincere about wanting to check in with him to see how he was doing, but after the way the other had treated him, and never even apologized for it, he wouldn’t be surprised if this was just another plot to humiliate him somehow. “Yea, someting tragic has happened, your pack is filled with psychopaths, yada, yada, yada, we been knew,” he huffed, folding his arms across his chest. The alpha was so hard to read, Blake genuinely had no idea what to think, but so far he didn’t see a reason to give him the benefit of the doubt just yet. “Need something from you?” he tilted his head to one side, eyeing the other down suspiciously. “Why? Where you offering anything?”

Or because... of what happened?” Blake didn’t go to the party, he didn’t know all the details, and honestly didn’t want to know either, so he quickly changed the subject. “If it’s because of me, then don’t be, babe. I won’t bite... unless you want me to,” he added with a wink.

Confusion spread across Blake’s features when the alpha wolf showed some empathy towards him. Blake wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box, but it was obvious the other was up to something, because he had never been this nice to him before. “I doubt you can imagine how anyone is feeling, period,” he sneered, cocking a suspicious eyebrow. The boy hadn’t forgotten yet about what happened between them, all the cold words that were said to him for no good reason. “So, why are you really here?” Blake questioned, pursing his lips into a thin line. Sure, he was supposed to be polite to customers, but the beta wolf wore his heart on his sleeve, and he couldn’t just pretend like he wasn’t still incredibly upset about it. “Let me guess; You’re looking for a warm mouth? because that’s all I’m good for?”

Matty had been one of the doctors on the scene, though he couldn’t say he expected to end the night with real blood on his own hands. Yet none the less he’d switched into doctor mode without even a moment’s hesitation, using his own hands to put pressure on one of the more serious wounds to slow down the bleeding, all in an attempt to save the life of his own packmate. He’d been there in the ride over, helped push the gurney to the operating theatre, and even helped hook him up in the ICU after. Yet in that time frame, he didn’t process the situation, he’d been to busy being a doctor to be a packmate. It wasn’t until now, sitting on the front steps of the hospital still in his scrubs and labcoat as the sun began to rise that his sleep-deprived brain let him process it all. “I don’t really know what to think of this. I mean, is it a hate crime? Is it the pack rivalry? I don’t feel safe here anymore.”

Even though Blake didn’t go to the Halloween party, this night had still been a disaster for him for numerous of reasons. Long story short, he ended up having to walk to the other side of town to get home, after he had to flee out of a window, because a wife had caught him sleeping with her husband. To make matters worse, he got roasted in the worst possible way by his biggest enemy shortly afterward. Being broke as usual, the boy couldn’t afford a cab, so he had been walking for quite a while now. Things really couldn’t possibly get any worse. Cold wind swept across his pale skin, making the young beta shiver. God, if only he had brought his Gryffindor cloak with him, but unfortunately he didn’t think he would need it. Luckily, he managed to power through the poor weather. There was a short cut nearby the hospital that he planned on taking, and after that it would just be a few more blocks. When he spotted a familiar face on the hospital’s doorstep, looking beyond distraught, Blake stopped dead in his tracks. “Matty?” he asked, arching an eyebrow as the older male continued to mumble to himself. “A hate crime? What are you talking about, dude?”

Blake was having a hard time focusing on his job, only a day after the Halloween party, which had turned into a disaster for numerous reasons. The brutal attack on one of his pack members was all his coworkers and customers could talk about, there was just no escaping it. The boy didn’t know what to think of what happened, and truthfully, he preferred not thinking about it at all. All he wanted was to finish restocking the scented candles, so he could go home. His night got ruined for different reasons, and he was still in a crappy mood because of it. “Can I help you?” he asked when he noticed that someone was standing behind him, turning his head to face them. “Oh, it’s you.”

He lets his head fall forward so it could rest against his friend’s. Letting out another soft breath, he gives Blake a gentle nudge. “Speak for yourself. It doesn’t help that you’re walking around in literally a towel.”

“Did you just imply that I look smoking hot in a towel?” A self-satisfied grin crept up his lips as he glanced up at the taller boy, amused by the pink hue on his cheeks. Leaning forward, he nuzzled the crook of the omega’s neck while lifting his hand to ‘subtly’ undo the top button of his shirt. “Stop flirting with me, baby. We have a party to get to... right?” he asked, trailing a few featherlight kisses across his pale skin before looking up again, a mischievous glint in his dark eyes. “Unless you think it’s okay to let the people wait a little longer?”
