The Overlords
(Tw: mentions of death, suicide, viruses, etc)
(How tragic can I make these?)
Overlord Dazzle:
A virus broke out in her dimension, and she had to watch all her family members die to it. At some point she managed to get a hold of her dimension’s star and has been using it to try and turn things back to how they once were. However, she is the newest overlord and still hasn’t gotten a hang of it yet.
She’s still terrifying though.
She’s in charge of a walled city full of survivors looking for a cure. She is the tallest but the second youngest of the overlords.
Overlord Sun:
Basically the “What if Sun Killed Eclipse” episode. Sun kills Eclipse, gets the star, New Moon appears. He’s been using the star to protect his family, killing anyone who dares to interfere with his plan.
Lunar joins the astrals, determined to take down Sun. They get into a fight, Lunar goes to kill Sun, but New Moon (Nexus) gets in the way and is killed. Lunar goes into hiding.
I’m still not sure what his world would be like, probably hasn’t really changed other than the fact that he’s in charge. He does try to revive his family but for some reason it doesn’t seem to work. If it does, they don’t live for very long.
Overlord Lunar:
Lunar had the star, having stolen it from Eclipse and the astrals immediately took him into training. He, however, spent more time with his family and neglected his duties. The astrals didn’t like that.
They tried distracting him while they went to “take care” of this issue but much like any god, Lunar could hear his family talking to him like a prayer. He could hear them screaming. He teleports away but he’s too late. The astrals have killed his entire family, even the newly created Nexus, who knew nothing of the astrals other than what Lunar had told them.
Lunar made it his mission to kill every single astral in the multiverse, including the dark astrals.
He’s rarely in his dimension anymore but he never bothered to change its appearance so it looks the same as it always did.
Overlord Jack:
Puppet didn’t send Nexus to space. She killed them and Jack, who had been running around looking for Nexus, witnessed it.
Jack distanced himself from everyone. Puppet tried explaining why she did it but Jack ignored her.
His Dazzle grew very afraid of everyone after learning what happened and decided that she’d rather move on than stick around as a ghost. Sun results to suicide at the loss of more family members and Earth is the one that found his body.
Jack swore revenge on Puppet for killing the only parent he had left, finds a star fragment that Nexus was experimenting on to defeat Eclipse, and uses it. It grows into a new version of the Star and Jack kills Puppet. Eclipse took Earth and Lunar into hiding, fearing they’d be next.
His world is very spooky. It’s like Halloween Town all year long and he is the king. He is the youngest and shortest member of the overlords.
Overlord Solar:
Solar’s only friend was Nexus. Nexus was created by Moon as a lab assistant, but he died before that could happen. Sun didn’t really give them a second glance and Lunar didn’t want anything to do with them. Nexus was basically living in his dimension after they ended up there by accident.
They fell in love very quickly.
Nexus decided to help bring back Solar’s Sun. Solar’s Moon finds out and nearly beats Nexus to death for even touching his sun. Solar managed to kill him but the damage was already done. Nexus dies, and to make matters worse, they were unknowingly pregnant with Jack.
Solar creates the star after finding the blueprints Nexus had from their Moon’s lab. He managed to bring back his Sun, who later became his right-hand man, but because Nexus wasn’t from his dimension, he wasn’t able to revive them.
His world is very… steampunk? Industrial? There’s a lot of mechanical things.
Overlord Earth:
She was Daddy’s little princess. She fully believed that the Creator was good and that the family was evil, which is why she needed to find the star and kill them. However, over time she started to have doubts and connect with the family. The Creator found out and took matters into his own hands.
It was like a horror movie, every time they turned around another one of them was dead.
It was just Earth, Lunar, and New Moon left and they were going to get the star. The Creator killed Lunar very quickly and New Moon tried to fight him off while Earth got the star. New Moon is killed and Earth kills the Creator.
Her dimension is very perfect. Nice houses and gardens, a happy picture perfect world. She lives in a castle with a large garden that is filled with her family’s favorite flavors and fruit trees and plants that remind her of them. She is the second oldest member.
Overlord Moon:
Moon took over his dimension almost overnight after the death of his family, creating an entirely sci-fi dimension that he controls. I’ve decided to keep his backstory a secret (until I figure it out. Why is it so hard to figure something out for him?)
He is the oldest member and the one to have found each of the other overlords and brought them together.
Overlord Nexus:
The newest addition to the overlords and where our story begins.
Nexus gets sent into space by Puppet and falls unconscious, floating around space until the overlords find them. They become their assistant at first but the overlords come up with a plan to either get or recreate Nexus’s star so they can join them as an overlord. Nexus is very on board, wanting to live with their new powerful family that loves them very much. They don’t realize that their original family realized what they’ve done and are looking for them.
Each of them had a Nexus in their universe
Overlord Sun and Dazzle have a father/daughter relationship
Overlord Solar and Jack have a father/son relationship. Jack misses his parents and Jack is the son Solar never got to meet.
They are all terrifying mafia bosses basically. Don’t let the sweet personalities and smiles fool you.
They all have or carry personal things from their original families.
You have no idea how much they fight over whose turn it is to have “Nexus time”. Nexus needs a color coded schedule just to keep up with them.
Solar doesn’t view himself as family and they don’t view him as family. He’s pretty much only there because their versions were a good friend to them.
Overlord Solar and Nexus have something going on (of course they do) but they don’t know how to go about it. Everyone wishes they’d kiss already.
Overlord Jack is very attached to Nexus. Very clingy.
They’re very protective of Nexus
Trauma ✨
Who's still alive:
Nexus's entire family is still alive, Moon was brought back, and Solar isn't alive (yet)
Overlord Sun's Lunar is alive and still out for revenge on each other
Overlord Jack's Eclipse, Earth, and Lunar are still alive. Moon was never brought back, and Jack doesn't really care enough to go after the remaining family members
Overlord Dazzle's family is mostly dead or completely taken over by the virus
Overlord Solar's Nexus's family is still alive. Their Sun and Lunar anyway. He never bothered to check or tell them what happened to their "sibling"
Overlord Lunar's Eclipse is still alive but Eclipse 'noped' out of there real quick
Overlord Sun, Moon, and Earth's family are gone. All dead.
I'll color these some other time but here's their designs :)
every time i see this image i can't help but think of luz noceda
like literally
randomly getting intensely interested in some bullshit like
Moon: "this is my brother"
He points to a crudely drawn picture of what is supposed to be Sun. Sun has a little dunce cap on in the drawing
Carmine: "...Moon"
Moon: "this is ALSO my brother"
His points to a picture of Lunar. Lunar is legit just a dot on the page next to Sun
Carmine: "....Moon"
Moon: "and this is my cousin!"
He points to a crude drawing of Solar. Solar has a crudely drawn big butt in the picture
Solar: "....why did you draw me like that"
Moon: "hehehehehe!"
He proceeds to laugh like a little shit
Carmine: "Moon be nice to your family"
I like to think that Sun is at GOD LEVEL MF ARTIST and then say "honestly I can't even draw a circle :("
And then Moon is there.
With his stick figure drawn plans.
That barely resemble stick figures.
(Though, he is pretty good with perspective and background plans. He's just very bad at drawing people)
I wonder if the Moon Haven even counts Wheatley...
He did break into Carmine's home so it makes me wonder if he's the rat. Especially given that he pokes and pries into other people's business, and based on the character he was named after, it wouldn't be surprising if he betrayed them all.
Was it him that tried to attack Sol?
That would actually be pretty funny though, the reason why they bring him in is because none of them has ever played portal.
Moon:"Really?? You guys never thought that Wheatley, the guy very similar to a Portal game character who betrays you in the end, wouldn't just be giving important information to your enemy to gain power over your Haven?"
Rusty:"...What is Portal game?"
Moon:"...Anyone here know Portal??" Everyone shakes their heads.
Carmine:"I've played Portal....I just never finished it."
Sun:"Oh my god..."
And even though Wheatley is betraying them, he still just has two neurons in his peanut sized brain.
Like, he has all his agenda-calendar every day marked with "SPYING" except weekends bc that's the days he takes a break and eats ice cream.
The whole reason Wheatley even JOINED Tyrant was because he offered Wheatley free ice cream to join his arm- movement. Yes, that, movement.
If you had unlimited resources and/or money to have as many goats as you want, how many goats would you have and why?
three, because that's how many my mom wants
My mom wanted chickens.
omg mine does too! i'm convinced she just wants to live on a farm. if we did, i'd want to have a horse. or multiple horses! i love horses.
Me too! I have never ridden a horse, but I have a friend who does that as a sport, and one of my uncles has a farm!
Crack Theory: Tyrant is a rickroll. Like, he's the physical embodiment of a rickroll. He's a rickroll in Sun form.
So now they turn Sun into a spy
Summary: Sun is depressed. The only thing makes him function is taking care of Dazzle, but now even do that cost him a day of sleeping and laying... And for the worse, some big bad guy is about to destroy the multiverse again, including Dazzle's school. So now to protect or get out of the threat of the Sun Sanctuary, Sun has to pretend as Servant - a mad man. Sun knew he should take acting lesson from Ruin when he has chance.
TW: depression language. I don't know. This Sun in this story is pretty much sad
Chapter 1:
Sometimes Sun wondered why he felt nothing.
And then he remembered that he was depressed.
—
(Two weeks before Sun's assignment)
The morning the sun brought a refreshing breeze to everything. The sky was clear, the clouds had dispersed, and flowers were in bloom—a perfect day to go outside.
If only everyone thought so.
"Sun, get out of bed right now!! This is getting out of control!!! You know what Moon had to call me for!!!"
The curtains had obscured the bright sky and the energy carrying vitamin D. The cup had probably been there for over a week; a few bugs had taken over and were having a pool party. The duvet cover was wrinkled, curled into the shape of a lifeless animatronic, oblivious to the angry shouts of the remaining orange daycare attendant.
The stagnation and gloom of this room stemmed from its owner.
Sun.
And for what reason?
For no reason at all.
Sun just lay there, and suddenly that was all he wanted to do. It felt like no matter how much energy he charged, his battery would never be full. Even something as simple as turning on the screen and watching something interesting was difficult for Sun, when what he did almost every day was lie there staring at the ceiling and letting his battery drain until the next day.
Animatronics don't need sleep, but Sun liked the silent darkness that gently covered him . a blink of an eye enough to make time pass faster.
At first, it was just to kill time.
Dazzle went to summer camp for a week, and everyone in the family was busy. And Sun was lonely.
Obviously, his life now revolved around Dazzle, and Dazzle was having fun elsewhere.
And Sun had no friends either. He wasn't sure he could call any of the Glamrocks friends, at most colleagues. And things had become incredibly awkward with Rosiebell ever since she betrayed him and confessed her feelings…
And any old friends? Freddy? Chica? Glamrock Freddy? Even Golden Freddy? Honestly, Sun hadn't been in touch with them since they moved away. It was hard to do that when about two-thirds of his memories with them were filled with Eclipse taking over his body and acting like a madman, torturing everyone he cared about for fun.
The old Sun would probably have immediately made new friends. Good heavens, he could find Lunar funny too. But the Sun he was now just wanted to lie down and relax.
And Sun did as he pleased.
At first, just on the sofa, staring blankly at the TV.
Then Sun realized he wasn't watching TV either, and the mattress was more comfortable.
And in the blink of an eye, hours turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months
Jack was either playing or doing something else, so he didn't notice. Everything was quite calm at both Sun Sanctuary and Moon Haven, so no one contacted him, and Moon was doing something with Carmie.
Just the Sun and the endless universe.
Then Dazzle returned, and Sun's energy came back.
And it immediately vanished the moment his little deer girl left.
His excuses for staying home increased, and his cleaning became much more neglected. His magic practice sessions with Dahlia were gradually missed, and Sun felt like he was falling back into the period when Nexus and he were drifting further and further apart.
His habit of sleeping so much that he forgot to wash the dishes was probably the climax that drew everyone's attention.
"Come on, Sun, take a walk, maybe it'll do you good."
Now it was pleading. What's next? Acceptance? Sun felt sorry for Solar, who had just gone through a heartbreaking ordeal with Nebula, and now had to take care of him.
Moon's memory lapses were already a terrible problem to deal with, and now this.
Would it remind Solar of his Sun? A dark thought flashed through Sun's mind and was immediately blocked.
He remembered the first few days. Everything was so irritable, because… Sun had become inexplicably sad.
And Sun tried to be as lively as before, but the more he tried, the more he wanted to go back to bed and lie down.
Then they became gentler, at Terra's suggestion, to give him time to recover.
And then they lost their patience again and became even more irritable than before.
It was a cycle.
One day, Sun could hear indistinct shouts from someone saying how selfish he was to lie there while everyone else was stressed; the next day, these gentle voices returned, saying he needed to try to recover because Dazzle was very worried about him.
Sun felt he had lost something, and he didn't know what it was.
Today it was Solar's turn.
Sun wanted to tell him to give him a few minutes and then he could sit up, but for some reason, his voice was too dry, making Sun not want to say a word.
The blanket was thrown off him, and a rough hand pulled him up. Solar was never gentle. His relative was like a wrench in their hands—tough, brutal, and solving problems in the most violent way possible.
Anyway, the robots didn't feel anything.
Solar dragged him into the bathroom, letting the cold water run down his palms.
"Here, wipe your face. I can't believe you let the oil get all over the sheets and pillows like that." Solar grumbled, but still placed a clean, wrung-out towel on his soaking wet hands. "Dazzle's gone to school, Joy's helped out. Believe it or not, they said we should move you to Sun Sanctuary," Solar held up two fingers in each hand, making quotation marks in the air, "like they didn’t imply because of us that you're like this."
Sun shook his head, then nodded. He wanted to say that no one in the family had anything to do with him being like this, it simply happened because it happened, but that was hard to express simply by nodding or shaking his head.
"Yeah, I know." Solar rolled his eyes as they dragged him out of the bathroom like a little duckling. The whole house was silent. It was Wednesday, and everyone had to work. There were quite a few machines and taxes that needed Solar's attention, yet they were still here, because Sun was in a state where he couldn't take care of himself.
It shouldn't be like this.
Sun should be healthy.
Sun should feel guilty for adding to everyone's burden.
But no, Sun felt nothing but sleepiness.
The noise from the door made him lose his balance; Sun almost stumbled down the stairs.
The metal joints creaked from disuse, and perhaps his laziness in lubricating them in bed had made things a little worse.
The air smelled of fresh cinnamon. The sunlight dappled Sun's face, warm like someone's fingers gently caressing his cheek.
Both of them walked aimlessly along the sidewalk. Occasionally, Sun would see a few bicycles rattling on the cement.
"Where are we going?"
Sun's once shrill voice was now softer and hoarser. It was almost as if Dark Sun had risen from the grave and was staring at him in the mirror.
"Let's go for a walk. You need the sunshine." Solar didn't even turn around, still pulling him along.
"I'm not human, Solar." Sun clung to Solar's hand, quickening his pace, keeping up with their rhythm. "Sunshine only makes my paint fade faster."
"No, but you're already a bum, so it's no different. ‘Side, You're not a child, Sun, you know what I mean."
Sun knew, and he knew he was being spoiled and ungrateful. But all his commands now were to get back to his bed and his soft blanket. And Sun's energy had been poured into Dazzle, making her believe her father is better.
"If you keep acting like this, I'll send you to the Sun Sanctuary for real." Solar growled, holding Sun's hand tightly.
Ah, it seems Sun touched Solar's anger button earlier than usual today.
That was just a statement.
Solar didn't even mean it.
Sun didn't want to go, and neither did Solar, Moon, or anyone else… He wasn't sure about Terra because his sister seemed to think Sun Sanctuary would be better for him, but for a moment, the fan in his chest seemed to stop spinning.
"Forget it." There was a sigh, as if someone was trying to regain their composure. "I didn't mean it that way."
"I know, Solar."
"I'm sorry."
"…Yeah." Sun didn't want to say it was actually his fault for provoking Solar because the last time he said something similar like that, Moon smashed a TV and almost stormed off.
"Do you want some ice cream?"
And without waiting for his answer, they went for ice cream.
Solar had a bright yellow ice cream that smelled like mango and banana. Sun, though not wanting to eat it, took a green tea flavor.
The cold sensation made Sun a little more alert, enough to feel ashamed of himself. Sun just wanted to do something, perhaps get back to work, or erase from his family's memory the fact that he had been lying in bed for over a month for no reason.
But then the cheerful feeling after eating the ice cream vanished, and Sun's mind gradually solidified into a strange numbness.
"Dahlia was looking for you the other day."
They fell into a quiet space, enjoying their ice cream before Solar broke the silence.
"What for?" Sun asked, bewildered. The last time they met, both had… left a rather bad impression on each other. Dahlia blamed him for dragging Moon into trouble, while Sun was angry at Dahlia's arrogant attitude.
It's true that they behaved normally afterward, but then they gradually saw each other less and less, and…
Actually, this had been going on for a while; it was just the final bell that shattered the glass.
Sun and Dahlia were always like two parallel lines, no matter how hard they tried, the closest they could get was peaceful social interaction, never truly understanding each other.
"There's some kind of mission…" Solar's voice was hesitant, as if they weren't happy to report it to Sun. "And it's urgent. So urgent that they said if you don't see them, they'll come looking for you."
"But they've never contacted me before?" Sun frowned, trying to remember if, in a moment of 'recklessness,' he had inadvertently blocked Sun Sanctuary's number and signal.
"Ah no… This is our fault." Solar turned away, looking a little embarrassed. Oh… Sun really wanted to ask more questions.
But he was too tired to care.
And what good would asking do if he couldn't solve it anyway?
"So, what do we do now?" Sun fiddled with the cone, a fluffy cloud of ice cream drifting right up to his cone.
"The answer is up to you, Sun," Solar said seriously. "The important thing is, do you want to meet them?"
"They'll find us anyway, and besides, Dazzle studies there. I don't want to embarrass her."
Sun muttered. What could possibly happen? Sun is useless. The ability to find wither shards? With the power of The Star, what did they need? Magic? Plenty of people more skilled and ruthless than him. Intelligence? Please.
Sun wasn't so stupid and lacking in common sense as to overestimate himself above other animatronics.
Perhaps except for Funtime Freddy.
The day Sun acknowledge Funtime Freddy is smarter than him, that's the day Sun will go to Eclipse's house and ask them out on a date.
"We need you to spy for us, Sun."
Solar contacted Sun Sanctuary, and just minutes later, Dahlia appeared.
Hello, Sun, it's been so long.
Hello, Sun, how are you?
Hello, Sun, I'm sorry for always acting like a know-it-all.
No, of course not. A quick, concise, and straightforward style, without caring if it annoys others. Classic Dahlia. Sometimes, even though Dahlia is a sun, he finds them more like moons.
"What did you say?" Sun asked, bewildered, his brain still reeling from Solar grabbing him by the back.
"Didn't we make it clear last time? Except for Dazzle's matter, we don't want anything to do with Sun Sanctuary anymore." Solar snarled. The bloodthirsty hatred of his relative almost silenced Sun. The key word was, 'almost'.
"That's not your business to decide. You said it yourself. The choice rests with Sun." Dahlia spoke softly, but their words were like daggers piercing Solar's heart.
"Were you eavesdropping on us?!" Solar nearly lunged forward, if Sun hadn't pulled them back from behind.
"I think it's all just a misunderstanding, isn't it, Dahlia?" Sun cleared his throat, meeting Dahlia's black eyes. They were always like a stagnant lake, pitch black and bottomless, with only a glimmer of silver like moonlight shining into the depths.
"I was looking for you, Sun… The timing of Solar calling me and my arrival was quite… coincidental. Overhearing your conversation was purely coincidental… I apologize for any offense."
"Do you think we're three-year-olds who would believe that?" Solar scoffed. Of course, a non-violent Solar was an Eclipse who had lost both limbs, meaning they were no match for Dahlia's sharp tongue. And Sun, just to prevent the two from coming to blows, immediately changed the subject.
"What do you mean, spy?"
Solar's expression shifted slightly; it seemed Solar knew a little about this.
"Servants… Do you remember them?" Dahlia asked hesitantly.
"The guy everyone's wanted? What happened to him?" Sun's closest thought was that they had injured someone, like they had tried to kill Sun. His second thought was that someone had killed them.
But whatever it was, it left a deep, agonizing black hole in his chest.
"No. We captured them last week. But…" Dahlia's voice grew more strained. "Recently, during the investigation, we found some evidence suggesting the Servant had contact with a dangerous individual…"
"How dangerous, and why do you need the Sun?" Solar interrupted.
"If you let me handle it… Dangerous like Ruin… Or Lord Eclipse… That's an incredibly evil and power-hungry man…"
"And you think Sun is suitable?" Solar sneered. "Aren't you all so capable? Why don't you do it yourselves?"
Ignoring Solar's criticism, Dahlia turned to him.
"Sun… Do you remember… the evil man I once served? The one I blindly trusted?… That's him."
Dahlia's eyes seemed to pierce Sun's soul.
"I can't participate because I'd be incredibly reckless, not to mention they might recognize me… And… among the Suns, your dimension signature code and Servant's are the closest. They're essentially a variant, a branch from the original timeline. The Servant is you, from a bad future… So, we desperately need your help to continue the investigation."
"If we don't stop his plot, I fear everything will be destroyed…"
"Please, Sun…"
Dahlia was saying something, but Sun's mind was focused on only one thing. The person who tried to kill him months ago turned out to be him.
No wonder they were so crazy.
Sun wondered when he would go crazy like that.
In the distance, there was the sound of arguing.
Sun thought it was far away, until he realized it was Solar's voice.
They looked incredibly angry, to the point that even the sharp black spikes on their rails seemed to stick out.
"IS THAT SUN FOR YOU??? A TOOL TO EXPLOIT??! I KNEW YOUR PREVIOUS OFFER TO HELP SUN WASN'T GOOD-WILLED!!!"
"On the contrary, Solar. We genuinely want to help Sun. But this situation..."
"It happened so suddenly that no one had time to react."
"What… what would happen if I didn't agree?" Sun stammered, feeling fortunate that he had been so numb that he didn't feel the constant anxiety churning in his stomach.
"Nothing would happen." "We'll continue our investigation in the usual way, with the chance of finding the enemy dropping to 3 percent…"
"You—!"
Sun knew Solar was angry on his behalf, but he was too tired and stressed out by the shouting.
"It won't hurt you… We… I… Solar agreed to lend you the Star if you agree… It's a source of power usable in all dimensions, maybe you could even use it to fix Moon's memory problem."
"It sounds like a threat," Sun muttered, moving closer to Dahlia, their bodies still carrying the familiar scent of flowers. "Even though I don't want to agree, I have to, am I right, Dahlia?"
The ruthless and cold general in the story Sun heard standing still like a statue, then they nodded. There was a slight feeling of regret and guilt in their eyes, but Sun was tired.
Sun didn't want to bother with such pointless matters.
"I.. I need to tell Moon first."
The answer was almost a delay, but like building a house with toothpicks; it crumbles at the first gust of wind.
Then Sun turned, pulling Solar along. There was nothing more to say, and he believed Dahlia wouldn't chase after them either.
They needed him.
So now they had to comply.
Just as he would comply when they needed him.
And now, they were going home.
…
Gosh… Moon will be pissed.
Rigel doodles and reference!
Hello there
GENERAL KENOBI!
Ah, okay I finally watched the ep where they meet Rigel.
....So does Rigel have this weird relationship with Carmine that he tried to commit s*icide with him along with everyone else?? Or was it because the circus was ending so Rigel wanted to do a grand finale where he took EVERYONE with them? It was kinda hard to hear him talk in the end.
Honestly I can understand from both points of their views. Carmine, fitting the New Moon title, seems to have this vengeance ark forming in his head because someone's been telling their enemies about his personal life. After everything he's done to try to help, and he has the most patience for everyone, more than what should've been especially after Wheatley broke into his home at 3 or 4 AM, and they do that to him?
Moon knew how to handle the situation it's just that Carmine wasn't willing to listen, couldn't listen when whatever happened there in his home must've been incredibly traumatic. And I can't really get mad at him for how he treated Sun. He probably thought for a second he was talking to Rigel.
Moon wanted to help, but he can't help someone that wasn't willing.
Carmine:"Ugh, I did it again." After he pushed Moon away, not physically but still.
So again, where the fuck did Sun get the idea that he should've killed Moon a long time ago??? How did that thought come across when he was just talking to them and then Joy?? He is losing his shit and Moon is the one with the memory problems.
markiplier is acting his markipussy out of this show
