Honestly, re: the post I elaborated on from @littlepinkihd ( and the tags i borrowed from @coccinellc ), everything becomes an extra layer of gross when you consider the fact that say for Chloe, all of Adrien’s love interests are women of color and they’ve all been portrayed as bitchy at least once.

Marinette is the first person we meet of course, but her bitchiness and immaturity comes and goes. She has stalked Adrien, stolen his phone, and been possessive to the point of having a full altercation with Lila for which she is ACTUALLY CALLED OUT ON by Adrien but this is blatantly ignored somehow. Marinette consistently throws fits when she feels as though things aren’t going her way. Often in private or with Alya, but I mean FITS, y'all. Her immaturity presents itself as childish and I guess it’s supposed to be cute? It ain’t.

Then we meet Lila. Y'all she DEFINITELY ain’t white. She’s Italian with olive skin, and honestly she’s not nearly as bitchy as she’s made out to be but she DOES lie in canon. And when called out on this, she switches to bitch-mode and becomes curt towards the protagonists. The fact that she doesn’t forgive Ladybug (even though she’s well within her rights not to) makes her a “bitch” in canon and to the fandom.

Moving on to Kagami. She comes in, is EXTREMELY pushy about challenging the best person there, and then becomes cold and immaturely curt when she loses. She gets so bent out of shape over it that it allows her to become akumatized. She literally can’t be convinced that she lost fairly.

Now let’s talk about Chloe. She’s our consistent bitch character. It’s intriguing to say that she’s the only one who’s not discarded. It may well be a good thing that our consistent bitch character isn’t a person of color, but pay GOOD attention to the fact that although Chloe is “mean” SHE will be getting a miraculous.

So I really just want everyone to pay attention. This isn’t JUST sexism. There’s also underlying colorism, as well. Because Adrien? Luka? Both love interests for Mari and both very very calm and white. So why is it that the brown women are being portrayed as emotional and angry and catty, and, furthermore, unredeemable/disposible? (Remember, we haven’t seen Lila or Kagami return yet.)

Just… think about that. Keep that in your noggin as this season continues.
