Hey! Before I confuse anyone, this blog was formerly divine-knight-hand. Now, you can call me Varen, Spade, or Vigil (I’ll also still respond to Divine and Knight, since I’ve used those names for quite some time).

My pronouns are she/him and I’m aegosexual and fictosexual. I’m also a college student (communications major) with maladaptive daydreaming disorder.

It fits sooo well into Buffy, like, as a persona?? Or the role she plays?? The role she feels she’s meant to play and the box she forces herself into so that she can play this role, because the role is Defined, the role is Safe (like yall said, “play acting that intimacy in a safe way that doesn’t affect her”).

ESPECIALLY love the juicy bit where she thinks she needs romance specifically as a way to counteract or “prove” she’s not actually unlovable 😍 God there’s just. SO. Much to be explored from that angle alone!!!

Also, Buffy loving her friends and partners deeply and equally as a result of her aromanticism and how that feeds into her protective nature couple with her getting into situations where she doesn’t value her own safety and well-being (tying into her feelings of being inherently unlovable).

Aro!Buffy really just builds off of and amplifies and adds depth to a lot of the stuff that’s already present within the canon!!
