i interviewed Lindsey Baker from Guts Club for my job at Impact 89FM. it was exciting to talk to a musician i admired.
sheâs got a strange voice and speaks in this kinda trashy swamp language that i find appealing.
her best song is called âShit Bugâ and itâs about building an island of muck for a troubled lover. she promises that it âgets bigger and bigger and swells just like your chest when youâre choking.â i find it almost unbearably beautiful.

this is what i call âChristian Nightcore.â
nightcore is a...genre of sorts. basically, youtubers who like anime speed up popular songs so they sound all bubbly and energetic, kinda like an anime theme. i donât like nightcore, but...i respect it.
christianity is something that i hear about on the radio all the time, so i guess a lot of people care about it. this particular religion also seems to influence US foreign policy. i donât get it, but some of the stories are good, and the preachers yell like angry schoolteachers, so theyâre pretty fun to listen to while driving down the highway. i like to record christian radio on my phone to save for later.
nightcore is about as popularity as christianity.
this is provable. try for yourself. look up any song on youtube and add ânightcore.â i can almost guarantee youâll find your track of choice. Simon and Garfunkel? yeah. BeyoncĂ©? yeah. Hall and Oates? definitely.
i made my nightcore track tonight, november whatever, and set it to a video of my cat, also taken tonight.
