Did you know, I learned the other day that SIX of the 9 Supreme Court justices went to Catholic school instead of public school?

I say this as someone educated at a general Catholic elementary school, Franciscan high school, and Jesuit university: what the actual fuck?! That's too high a proportion of people with an important societal role that's isolated from accountability. Too many Catholics, I'm sorry, that's just boggling.

Although saying it out loud it's actually not particularly surprising that Catholics are drawn to a seat of power that's not elected but selected by a small, elite group and then you stay there basically with no accountability until you die.

i've seen a lot of this sentiment and i do not think piper is exactly like her mom. She found she can't get away from her privilege as much as she'd like to, but she is also obviously much less bigoted, intolerant, close-minded, and toxic. Really we all try and many of us can only be somewhat better than our parents but not a whole lot. I find it interesting that so many people were rooting Piper to be as awful as Victoria though, or think she's literally the worst person in the family. Either bc it is not fun to see a sincere boring character on the White Lotus or bc they detest and project onto sincere young women generally, maybe both
