Personal favorite fics of 2015
So, seen as most of my favorite fics were not included (or they were placed too far in the list for my own liking) in the ‘official’ ranking of fics of the year, i’ve decided to make my own list with all my favorite 2015 fics and put them in a top 10 + 60 in a random order (because i’d panic if i had to classify them, sorry).
Also, i’d like to thank my beautiful pals from the fic group chat, because if this year i’ve read a lot of new stuff it is also thanks to their recommendations, so a big shout out to @otpwhatever, @cuethetommo, @skylinethroughthewindow, @heliolouis, @fireproofau, @tomlinsuntea and @coziestlouis for always keeping me updated with the latest fics and generally being the loveliest beans in the world. In Vogue by otpwhatever: Fashion AU. Louis is the editor in chief of Vogue magazine, and Harry’s running British GQ. Featuring Zayn as the crazy creative director and Louis’ confidant, Liam as the sports writer that gets to sit front row at fashion week and DJ Neil as the only sane person in the whole story.
Marking Up The Atmosphere by acidveins: At the age of twenty, Harry deals with things expected to occur at his age: student loans, instant meals, electricity bills, and the constant, incessant presence of never ending coursework. That, and the job of raising his six year old daughter and avoiding the charm of a young, successful, and very off-limits Louis Tomlinson.
Escapade by dolce_piccante: In the grand scheme of things, finding a date for a wedding should be no problem for Louis Tomlinson. He’s rich. He’s handsome. He’s reasonably well behaved. But when the wedding is for his lifelong best friend (and former boyfriend), and is happening in under a month, finding a date for the ceremony and accompanying festivities becomes more of an adventure than he ever could have planned for.
The Dead of July by whimsicule: Harry is Captain America, and Louis’ been dead for 70 years.
Leave it to the breeze by hattalove: a Great British Bake Off AU in which Louis cares about winning and winning only, Harry is made of sunshine and rainbow sprinkles, and Niall sticks his nose into other people’s business. Also featuring Liam as Louis’s best friend-slash-concerned mother, and Zayn as a macaron connoisseur.
As You Are by zarah5: AU. Five years after The X Factor launched his career as a radio host and songwriter, Louis Tomlinson returns as a judge. Falling for a contestant is the last thing he needs. It’s also against his contract. \ The only reason Harry auditions for The X Factor is because his best mate signed the two of them up as some kind of joke. Harry doesn’t get the big deal—not until he’s faced with this season’s judges and realises that one of them used to be his desperate, impossible teenage crush.
You Came Running With My Heart by Acavall: The world ends on a Saturday, which throws a bit of a wrench into Louis’ weekend plans. Now civilization appears to be destroyed, his roommate has run off into the countryside on a romantic quest, and Louis’ only hope of surviving is an ASDA employee with a pair of swords and too much time on his hands.
At least the apocalypse is over and done with – anything else that goes wrong is really just a footnote. (A post-apocalyptic roadtrip au.)
In Dreams by dolce_piccante: AU. When Harry moves to a new city, his new flat come with a number of sweet, anonymous gifts and surprises that brighten his days. Could it be a friendly ghost? Another friendly presence in his new building is his tattooed neighbor, Louis, who seems determined to put a smile back on his face.
Outwit, Outplay, Outlast by dancesongsoul, lookatyourchoices: a Survivor All-Stars AU in which Harry and Louis are just in this game to win the million dollars, but they end up with something better.
Unbelievers by isthatyoularry: The one where Louis and Harry definitely aren’t friends, and football is everything.
