Just got home from Week 2 of my Purple Book Class. Chapter 6 is about Discipleship and Leadership, and under that is Lesson 4 which is about Christian Character. Ptr. August asked us if we want to be a better person. Some raised their hands in response. But he told us that no matter how we try to be a better person, we will never be. Instead, we should strive to be Christ-like. By letting Him reign in us we become like Him. As He is, was, and for eternity as compassionate, merciful, just, loving, forgiving, giving, and responsive, I strive to be Christ-like. Choosing to be responsive and not reactive, letting the Holy Spirit guide and lead me to whom God has always wanted me to be. I want to be a Christ-like daughter first to God, and then to my parents, a Christ-like sibling, a Christ-like partner and parent in the future, a Christ-like friend, colleague, teacher, and whatever role I may take, I will strive to be like Him.
I am truly having a great time with our class and learning a lot. And then there will be more. This post is really me pouring my heart out, I've realized I haven't done this for quite some time now. Surely tonight is being vulnerable and just being transparent, and I think there's nothing wrong to be honest. God bless everyone! A blessed weekend to you all. <3
