Deltarune Ponies
Ok so was planning to post this after it was finished but its been days since I last worked on it (the main image) so uploading the wip rn. 😭 I'll eventually get it done but would like to share the idea. :D
here's the version posted on my insta story. It has a lot of text explaining the thought process:
I imagine all the addisons would be changelings in a mlp au. They change to fit whatever it is they are advertising.
Spam however always struggled with transformations. (He also hated being a changeling as he wanted to be more than just another member in the hive. He wanted to make it big so he left).
Instead of puppetfication Spam slowly got corrupted and became a starving changeling in this au.
Here's some sketches I made portraying it. (Made on Whiteboard and Magma)
Spam hid being a changeling from Tenna. Even moreso after he realized he was being corrupted.
Meanwhile Tenna is also hiding something here. Tenna was an ordinary unicorn who specialized his magic for the showbiz. He often messed with spells he shouldn't and some of those spells went wrong and altered his appearance. He became very ant-like alongside having some of his organic body become robotic (like a tv). He's able to conceal his altered form (similar to Stitch) but it slips out from time to time.
He can still change sizes and that he does not hide. Its pretty well known hes made mistakes with spells before and that they would have affects on him. But being bug-like was something Tenna did not want others to know since he felt it would frighten them. (I also thought it would just be funny. Cuz both Spamton and Tenna would both be bug like here and neither aware of it). There's still a big difference between Tenna's form and Spamton's since Spam's corruption is supposed to mirror the effects of becoming a puppet. Whereas Tenna's features are just meant to reference his ant theme.

I think these can be semi-understood tho?? But to summarize, his tail can take shape of an ant's abdomen.
Tenna's design is still a work in progress. So stuff may change for his. But im happy with Spamton's. It just needs to be colored.
Also I thought it would be funny if Spamton convinced Tenna, Pegasus lay eggs like birds do. See I imagine Spam was gonna admit being a changeling sometime before he began to corrupt but chickened out and made his confession be that he was actually a Pegasus instead of an Earth Pony (since that's the form he took before he was finally able to change into a Pegasus), and that's how he was able to give Tenna the Pipis.
Also Spamton can transform better after his full corruption but he has no full control over it. It changes the way his speech does. Keeping a consistent form brings him physical pain. So in this image not only is he in pain trying to appear like a Pegasus (Tenna still doesn't recognize him and sprays him. 😔)
He can't ever appear like he was during his big shot era again. He's physically unable to.
Eventually after Tenna and Spam make amends Spam slowly returns into a semi-reformed changeling. He won't ever be a fully reformed one again but at least his starvation begins to go away. (This is inspired by Owlygem's idea of Spamton getting to heal).
Anyways will finish this concept art eventually. 😭 for now here's the drafts.
