At the Publix I go to a lot, a few of the employees don’t speak English and work the checkout line with a bagger who is also a translator. They hired a kid I knew for while who was afraid he would never be able to hold a job because he is autistic and had a physical deformity and now he’s the deli manager.

recommendations for beginer violin pieces?

if you mean “I just started learning violin two days ago” beginner, then you’ll have to stick to the classics like twinkle twinkle, dreidel, that one about cabbage, hot cross buns, happy birthday, etc. 

if you mean “I know the basics of violin but I’m not very advanced” then I would actually recommend some fiddle tunes. most of them are in first position and they provide a little more variety than the previously mentioned songs. the book I have is called “the magic of irish fiddling” and it was the first thing I started playing that actually made me like the violin.

however, if you can play in third position, that opens up a world of possibilities. there’s the vivaldi and bach a minor concertos and pretty much all of the seitz student concertos, along with other things that have been transcribed for the violin, and you would do better using a google search to find those.
