well then when ( ;) ) you poll us about your wednesday morning options, be sure to tell us how each one works/what effects you expect!

So woopsie, my work schedule has ended up being different from what I thought, so I won’t be able to do it Wednesday. 😅🥲
But don’t worry, I’ll throw in a little something extra to make up for it ✨✨✨
What laxative do I have to take?
2oz caster oil, Friday morning
25mg senna, 3x per day for three days starting Thursday evening
Remaining time: 1 hour 41 minutes
Very fast acting, very strong stimulant laxative. 2oz is the max dose. If taken on an empty stomach, usually causes extreme diarrhea within an hour or two, with multiple return trips to the bathroom afterwards. Tastes yucky. Do not take more than 2oz, you may poison yourself.
I have not tried it myself before.
Senna (also called sennosides)
Slow acting stimulant laxative. Usually takes 8-12 hours to begin working, though it usually takes closer to 12-15 hours for me cause I just have a generally slow system, lol. Senna itself actually doesn't do anything until it's processed by the small intestine into a different compound, so taking it rectally won't do anything (unlike bisacodyl).
Generally causes firmer stools, since it works slower and does not pull excess water into the colon.
It's derived from the leaves of the senna plant, which are also used to make tea. I prefer the pill form, because it's easier to track doses (and also I don't like hot drinks lol)
The absolute max safe daily dose is 150mg, and that's for like a total cleanout, like colonscopy prep-levels. 25mg is one extra strength dose. Long-term use at high doses has the potential to cause liver damage, so watch out. (I'm taking that into account when setting up this poll, don't worry.)
Taking laxatives, especially stimulant laxatives, continually for a period of time (most sources say a week) can lead to a rebound effect, where the colon becomes less responsive once laxative use is halted, leading to constipation. (As some of you may guess, this is not exactly entirely a downside to me...)
This effect is can usually be treated by weaning oneself off of the laxatives, but not always. Other potential effects are increased risk of GI infections, IBS, and liver damage.
I am not a doctor. If any of you are going to try taking laxatives recreationally too, please please please do your own research, take into account the condition of your own body, and start small.
