No, they put all that work into creating it and updating it to 1.0, they're just never going to update it again. Seriously though, they'll likely update it, and if they don't you can expect an update when the official API is out and mods have a lesser chance of breaking and when they do, they'll be much easier to update. The aether mod isn't that difficult to update to a small update like this, the only reason it was left at 1.7 before was because 1.8 and 1.9 revamped the entire game and they probably had to re-code vast portions of their mod. Edit: Just have patients, they'll update it
