Ilya approached that first hook up in the absolute right way to put Shane at ease and secure the ultimate prize (the golden boy of hockey on his knees in front of him) but I refuse to believe there wasn't at least a part of him that considered responding to Shane's "I'm not a chicken" with "okay, then I dare you to suck my cock" and I'm pretty sure that would have worked too.

I am ashamed of myself I’m easily made to feel stupid, I’m scared of any sort of earnestness on my part, I don’t want to be seen caring too much about something. One cool thing I’ve found myself doing is Mistake Counting in which I will bring up different mistakes I’ve made over the day in my head and decide ‘yeah I should be dead, I’m just not worth it. Look at all the shit I keep fucking up.’

I hate being socially anxious, I really really do, I hate shaking and sweating and crying cause I had to ask someone for something. It’s ridiculous man I feel so embarrassed and I get a headache for the rest of the day and the only fucking way to fix it is keep interacting with others. Like re-open the wound over and over again and maybe you’ll feel normal but one ‘bad’ interaction is going to fuck me up forever and it’s right back to square god damn one.

Author comment: Guys I’m totally not struggling to get these out in time thanks to a new crippling Balatro addiction. But really, I’m so happy to be talking about genes now! This, as mentioned in the previous slide, will be shorter but might end up longer based on how much I want to explain about my formatting as well as misc knowledge I wish to share.

Author comment: I knew this would be the shortest section, though to get the range of blues greens and purples we see in the books I had to do something neat for the other base color genes.

Author comment: First page of 2026! I hope new years was pleasant for all, get ready for more genetics here! The last slide was a bit incoherent, sorry about that! I can’t wait to show the Punnett squares I made for the color related polygenes!

Author comment: This slide was a bit cluttered.  I moved my explanation of Punnett Squares to the intro chapter!

Author comment: I made that Punnett Square by hand T-T But really, anything to communicate the science better! Also I hope my speculative rant makes sense, alas there was a particular reason you’ll see later down the line on why most of the genes were dominant!

Author comment: I actually also believe we don’t see many true purple or green Icewings is due to a bias of Icewing POVs. All current Icewing POVs are royal and only really describe and show Icewings in the palace. I feel like most queens are biased against putting true purple or green Icewings high enough in the rankings to be in the palace. I feel like a stigma behind true green and purple Icewings stem from, ‘if they can’t hunt well, why make them Queen!’ We’re going back to one page each Friday till Valentines week! It been hard keeping up with this posting schedule lol.
