Just completed my case study, need to proof read but so far I'm happy with it.
Finished pieces from the ceramic workshop on the 21/11/18 really love the way the plaque and the 3D design had turned out. I think next time I'd use more of a lighter green glaze and cut the excess off on future work to make it look more tidy.
28/11/18 Design Workshop
Here are the measurements for my box design, but during getting the lasercut ready with martin in illustrator. We changed a few of the measurements due to sacnning it in the size of pictures had changed, so we aligned each piece of the box to make sure it'll all fit together.
Then put the outline into red and a stroke of 0.001 also decided in class prior to doing the laser cut that I'd have the forest design on top of the box, the front and the sides. I also changed the design of the forest, and made it larger to fit the actual size of the box.
21/11/18 Design Workshop
For the design workshop we was given the theme place, so I’ve decided to choose a place that means a lot to me. Im doing a forest style background with the moon within in a circle shape. This to me represents a place where me and my uncle (dad) use to play a lot when I was I kid and I wanted to add this design onto either a box, chest or a money box.
14/11/18 Ceramics Workshop :
I had decided to do the same as what I did for glass, so once chosen my design I had to get my design ready for laser cut to be used in the workshop.
After the laser cuts were done in the workshop we were inducted into using the large vessel which was so we could roll out our clay for the bowl design.
For the 2d and 3d we had used rolling pins to press out our laser cut into the clay to make a impression, for my 2d plaque I had used several different coloured glazes for my design to try and replicate the album cover as best as I could.
7/11/18 Glass Workshop
For my glass workshop I chosen the leaf I drew with the Imagine Dragons album cover inside, I added the two E’s to represent evolve the name of the album.
We tapped a piece of glass with black tape, so we can cut out what we want on our design to be sandblasted.
Then once finished cutting out my design, we sandblasted our glass after its been sandblasted we had to wash the glass of to remove the remaining dust.
3rd November, today I started my research journal im starting with one of my fav landscape photographer’s Max Rive. Its not finished just yet but, when it is I'll post a update picture .
31st October today in our Ceramic and Glass workshop we started to choose what we wanted to do on our ceramic and glass. So I picked the design of a leaf out of my sketchbook for next week when we start the workshop.
Today was the last day of our workshop in print, I like my final print I just wish when was doing the silk screen I added more of the black paint so that the green didn't come through. I think for my first time printing I didn't do to bad, at least for next time I know to add more .
Frottage and Rubbings, in class today we used three different tools a 6HB pencil, graphite stick and a graphite pencil. My favourite on the rubbings are the last four.
We’ve been given the theme Self Portrait / Identity, I drawed a self portrait of myself and came across a artist called Charis Tsevis. His work inspired me to use brands I like, and put them into my self portrait.
Our first print workshop I decided to a drawing I did on the topic that was given ‘self portrait / Identity’ music is a big part of my life and YouTube is something I do in my spare time and is something I hope to do as a potential job one day.
Been testing out different media's one of them being watercolour, really like how it turned out.Â
