While technically we could call that 'this morning', generally I'm not particularly coherent when woken at 3 bloody AM. I'd only gone to bed four hours earlier and while that might be enough for you it is most certainly not enough for me. Any time I've been awake, I've remembered the appointment. A few times when I haven't been, too, if you count that weird dream with the scissors and the bolt of fabric that had tried to strangle me. Anyway; bored I'll accept. As your reason, not as an excuse - but that sounds a lot closer to your actual motivation than trying to make sure I didn't forget.
John. I never said I wasn’t ego-centric; however, I do have far more reason to be, you must admit. Think it through.
You know, I know in your brain that sounded like a completely reasonable answer that shouldn't offend anyone 'because it's true', but that is not a proper answer you should give anyone, let alone me. We'll talk about why, later.
I explained to you what I thought to be behind Mrs. Hudson and Mrs. Turner’s behaviour on that one occasion. I don’t think you and I should address any paranoia issues in this forum, because I know you don’t like talking about your PTSD. Suffice to say, truly, I think you may be overreacting. (That particular fruit basket is regularly stocked at a nearby shop and is keenly priced for what it includes. It is also promoted very visibly. Likely the choice was opportunistic and furthered by maternal instincts toward us. They’re constantly trying to feed the both of us, if you recall.)
Yes, let's not discuss those particular issues in public, thanks. (I am not paranoid. Not really. Not with the things we deal with from day to day. I merely take reasonable precautions.) Oh, I'm sure it was opportunistic, and I will not argue that both ladies tend to feel kindly towards us (some days I wonder why) but given what you said at the time, and the comments they've made, between, I have no doubt they are both firmly of the impression that we are 'together'. Apparently, quite vocally. I'm going to stop thinking about this, now. You just don't want to do the shopping, anyway.
If Anderson should offer one single word that offends you, I want you to tell me; I will deal with it. With great enjoyment!
Oh, I'm sure you would, which is why I will very specifically not say anything if he does. (To you, anyway - I can take care of things myself.)Â
You don’t require a therapist, John. In some ways you, like I do, fall outside the common parameters therapists are trained to recognise and address. I don’t want anyone convincing you there’s something wrong with you, or that your behaviours or mental processes require ‘adjusting’. You’re fine just the way you are.
I'm not entirely sure how I should be taking that, but I know how you meant it, and I know how I'm going to, so... thanks. (There are quite a few people who would argue I'm mad just for living with you, but then, never much cared for other people's opinions, anyway.)
(Yes, I know I mentioned your issues, but you manage them perfectly well on your own. You’re very likely making that face right now. Stop it. Don’t argue with me.)
There are days I really wonder if you've tapped into my webcam, do you know that? (You haven't, have you?) We'll talk about the other bit, later. But thank you. I think.
Also, do you ever actually look in your closet?
Why, have you left me another note? I'll go look now, then, but there better not be another experiment in there; it took three weeks to air out, the last time.
